SxS doesn't equal Jeep with a shit ton of weight added.

Well he carries 2 and a 4 Wheeler. Still not the same weight but Jeep won’t be that heavy. Looking at 5k max.

Yeah your options are kinda old with low payment or new with high payment but warranty. The age old question.

    That's not heavy? o_O

Add a 3k trailer rated to actually handle that pig plus all the shit that gets added on to the load and a half ton ain't gonna be happy.

Yeah I’ll look more into them when the time comes. Not in a rush at the moment since Jeep isn’t even running.

Talking about Jeep not trailer also.

A buddy had his Jeep xj weighed in that’s on 38’s and 44’s and weighed in right at 4200. Xj’s are pretty light since no frame

I have no clue what he has.

Never ever ever ever try to guesslow on weight when towing.

    In My Experience.

1/2 Ton = Hook up every damn tow aid and watch the trailer like a hawk and end up sore and tired by the time you're home.

3/4 Ton = Just hook it up and go. Cruise one handed at the same speed as traffic. Check the mirrors occasionally and pay attention to Rpms/gears in the hills.

Dually = Oh yeah, there is a trailer back there.

I tow my heavy Tacoma with my single cab Ram 1500. 5.7. 20 foot trailer and it does fine. Have done two 1000 mile round trips in the last year (rubicon and moab) plus a few 3-500 round trip tows with it. Does 75-80 if I want it to on the flats and 65-70 up the hills. Average 11-12 mpg. My next truck will be an F250 though. Maybe a diesel but probably a gasser.

Yup that’s what the research I’ve done on them has pretty much said also. That’s one reason I was looking at them.

If you plan on towing a decent amount (which I assume you are because of the full hydro and air shocks and spools) I would seriously look at a Ram 2500 or f250. Mine does fine and I don't really push it to much but the tranny and oil does start getting warm on real long climbs (could be fixed with a bigger cooler) and a slightly bigger truck will make it easier on windy days. There is a pretty big difference between towing with my 1500 and my dads gas f250. Hence the want to go bigger.

I think he'll be okay with a gaser. But if think building of the jeep is expensive. Wait till the maintenance on it and travel expenses, tow rig and trailer.

I want 3500 Cummings so bad. But damn a 900 truck payment. Also tossing the idea of 5500 flatbed or 3500 with bed.

I plan to go to hammers. And there's no way my chvy with almost 300k will make that pull with 6.5 trailer and 3200 buggy.

Shiiiit. I'd rather pay 1100 a month then stretch out the loan to chase a payment and pay way more for it.

If I was doing transport. I'd already have one. Just hard to bite that for a tow rig. That doesn't really return the profit.
