Except... Nothing on what's left of that kit says rough country but I sure do see "Icon" plain as day. They make more than shocks.

Notice the epic hackjob he, or somebody installing his suspension did to the upper shock mount... Suffice to say, there more than likely were failures on the owners part that cause the break. Further, looks like he had Dakar springs, and u-bolt flip, the u-bolts being the cause of the failure and everything else becoming collateral damage.

After seeing the video and everything I know it was due to a whole lot of stupid on the drivers end. I was commenting on someone saying rough country when this kit very clearly has icon included in it. Broken shocks WON'T cause something like this.

On my RC comment, I was assuming broken U bolts from lift blocks. There was a lot more to this story from that early hot take. Ouch.

All signs point to the kit being good. Installation, however..

yup, parts are only as good as the person turning the wrenches... And judging by the hack job of an upper shock mount, my guess is the one turning the wrenches was not very good and had no business doing so in the first place.

Even seeing the winching vid, I'm still a bit confused. Something was up before things started popping.

I want to give the guy the benefit of the doubt and and assume those mounts were not the mangled before the incident.

It seems he was told quite a bit on what he should & shouldn't do (like don't put it in park/ or ride the brakes)...but he wouldn't listen as you can see in the video. So they just sat back and let him learn the hard way. Here's a quote from another poster in a different thread:

    "Stupid is as stupid does.

One of the videos was taken by Pablo and he says that they spent allot of time trying to explain how to do it but that he and his friend refused to hear it so they just enjoyed the show."

@Parker315 put some interesting ones on his truck. Not too much money and work great. @mesojdm also is a great resource but I suspect his are a tad bit more.
