    The part number for the aftermarket stuff can be found on rockauto.com. You can order it from rock auto or stalk eBay for cheaper prices. Rock Auto isn't a bad price but sometimes their shipping can be a little up there.

    I didn’t have any of these U-Nuts/Speed Nuts on hand so I used nuts and washers but for mounting the reservoir to the shroud, two of these are needed.

    Yes, I adjusted it according to the guide I linked to previously. Used 15000 cst fluid, adjusted to 95 degrees. It moves a lot of air now. Works good but not recommended if you're racing stop light to stop light. The fan runs faster and more often than stock. For super cooling in the heat, its going to rock. You can customize it to your tastes using your choice of viscosity fluid and adjust to what temperature you want.

    So if I understand it right, the higher the cst the more air it will push? And the temp adjustment is just when the fan starts coming on, yeah? I think I might go with a 10000 or 8000 cst fluid.

    So with the different fan clutch are you altering the load on the water pump shaft and bearings?

    How much oil did you buy? I see toyota sells 10k csf in 18 Ml tubes. I plan in buying a new fan clutch and modifying that one, then modifying my old one and maybe sell it, keep it for a spare or put it on my father’s truck.

    So after driving it today, I think it runs a little too much. I think I’m going to switch to 10k fluid first and see how it acts. Then I may bump up the temp that it comes on a little.

    I bought a couple 59ml bottles from Tower Hobbies. Probably only need one bottle.

    Not really, it's still the stock fan and the stock fan clutch (it's just running more). As long as the fan is reasonably balanced I wouldnt see any reason for increased shaft radial loading or bearing wear.

    The water pump is always spinning at the same speed as the engine, the only thing that is changing is fan speed due to the fluid couplings the fan clutch.

    Just to completely understand and revisit the purpose of the original thread, if we buy one of these radiators, and a FJ fan shroud, and an FJ coolant reservoir, its a direct bolt on for the Tacoma? I have an 06 2.7l with a 5 speed, but I would think it would be the same correct?

    If you believe rockauto.com, 2.7 and 4.0 radiators are the same part number. So if it fits a 4.0 it should fit a 2.7.
