I bought my truck with a spacer lift and add a leaf already installed, what’s done is done and now I’m stuck with it, for better or for worse.

I’m aware of the pros and cons of the spacer lift, but I’m not sure about this add a leaf. It looks funny to me, the way it doesn’t conform to the bed in my OEM leafs. Any insight from some more knowledgeable people? Is this bad for my leaf pack? Is it ghetto but acceptable? Or is this normal? I don’t have a clue!

I’m not sure if I’m seeing what you’re seeing. Are you referring to the bottom overload leaf?

I’m not seeing a spacer either.

Spacer is up front of course, I’m referring to the 4th leaf, on top of the overload, under the 3 leaf pack.

Nothing at all wrong with it,leave it alone. That set up is just fine, why would you want too change or fix something that's not broke.

The original owner did some funky stuff, dont even get me started on what he did to my sliders lol

So I just wanted to make sure this was normal. I wasn’t sure if this would put some weird pressure point on my current leaf pack or something which would lead to a failure.

I don’t know, therefore I ask! (After searching)

I'm by no means an expert, but it appears that it's just a "short" AAL. They make them in different lengths which might alter the ride quality. You're fine.

looks like a single 1.5in AAL. I have a 2in AAL on my truck and its decent, but because of the way its shaped axle wrap is horrible.

OP you can take the spacers and AAL out (i am actually considering removing the AAL off my truck and lowering the front), you can do it all for free.

The AAL is rather short, so it will wear out your OEM leaf springs more quickly than a longer AAL would. If money is tight and you want to upgrade in a year I wouldn't worry about it, but check your u-bolts and make sure they are tight, then do it again after 500 miles or so.

Thanks for the wisdom guys, , my next mods will be brake overhaul (new rotors/pads, SS brake lines) and then I’ll be moving onto suspension. Thinkin HD Dakar’s and ome shocks, depends on what my budget (or credit limit) is at the time lol. Slowly but surely
