1st Gen Double Cabs

Yes I believe it's a conversion. I luckily got the truck with them when I got her.

 

My 2003 in its current state. Double cabs rule!

finally rocking some 37s

 

How does it ride with the 37’s?

 

Rides great! Been dialing in how much balance beads I need but great so far

 

What gears

 

stock 4.30 gears. supercharger, 7th injector, and manual trans makes up for it and the dual cases make the gears unnoticeable out wheeling

 

Did you grab marlin or all pro. What case gearing did you choose. I think duals are ahead of a wench on a truck to do list. Snow sand rocks all around bonus not having excessive wheel spin.

 

Last I check, allpro don't sell dual case. Now that tg bought them out, they might start carrying it.

It's either marlin or tg, that's it. I still think atlas is the way to go, if you have the $

 

I'm running the INCHWORM clockable case kit. I have trail gear 4.7 gears in the front case mated to a stock j shift case clocked flat and then radesigns triple sticks

 

The sad part is, even lowrange stop selling their inchworn plate. Just advertised tg on their site now.

 

Yea they did .That's crazy, it wasnt too long ago I was on there playing around and it was all there. That being said for as much work as it was, and what I gained, I tell people to save the trouble and just get the trail gear kit

 

I will never advise that option. Personally, I know one too many crawler with tg cr@p and have issue, it's not worth the headache. You pay for what you get, that's why it's cheap for a reason

 

Maybe it' the trail gear adapter I was thinking about. It seems like a positive to me cause you keep the beefier ring and pinion gears but get the tq. In the Tacoma I'm under educated on it though, despite massive 'e search combos and comparisons. Live and learn, thanks for the heads up.

 

True statement! I hate trail gear stuff and try not to run it as much as possible. I always recommend marlin crawler but when you're in a pinch and needing something quick trail gear, or a vendor has it in stock, and then it usually gives out premature

How much cab chop required to fit 37?

 

Ground it down until the bolt. Rubs on the frame more now and is wheelable. Still need to ideally tub the firewall more and would like to move the cab mount back a inch or two like the second gen guys do
