JL 10w3 won't fit in a dc

I was hoping to fit two JL 10w3s in the 60 portion behind my rear seats but after getting 1 in today I see that isn't going to work lol. No loss my buddies taking it off my hands for what I paid. I was going to run two 10w3s off a 750/1 JL HD amp but now it looks like I'll be running 1 13tw5 with that amp instead. Should pack a serious punch. Fiberglass starts tomorrow!

The TW5's won't pack a punch but it will sound good. Post some pics when you start glassing.

 

I have 2 w3s in an access cab....and turn them way down most of the time. Almost to much punch ha be sure and let us know how your new setup sounds I may switch things up

 

You must not have heard them.

 

I'm running a TW5 off the 500w channel of my HD900/5, and I can assure you they have punch. When I feel like it and crank the sub, I often wonder if Bruce Lee is stashed in the access cab punching my seat.

I've had. I replaced my single 12W7 with one TW5, and went back to my 12W7. And I ran it off 1000/1...wasn't impressive IMO.

 

Yeah I know. In fact the TW5 sounded better than when my W7 was in a sealed box.

 

250/1 is a great amp, thats more than enough power for me, now I just need to replace my pioneer premier with a jl sub and I will be set. This wont be happening until I craft up a box for my access cab so I can still use both rear seats.

 

naw thats not for me, im not gonna pay that much to lose my console space, I knew from the moment i first saw that thing that I wasnt going to cut my console to put it in. I want something that I can pull out of the truck if I ever sell it. Im going to craft up a box that sits in the middle of the two back seats at the same time creating an arm rest for the people in the back.

you can't really compare a sealed box vs. a ported. It's a whole different sound

 

I thought they did just fine.



They weren't enough bump for me but they were pretty freaking good.

Did you do a bed cut on that set up, crownedcustoms?

 

Yes I had to cut a big nasty hole in the back of the cab. TOTALLY WORTH IT!!
