Electricians?

I am a journeyman electrician in Massachusetts and because of the wonderful economy that we are all dealing with my pay has taken a big hit. I was just wondering, what are other electricians making hourly in other parts of the country?

 

I was a Sr. PM with a company here in Vegas. Burdened wages for a JW are at $70/hour. About $40 on the check. Right now the unions are getting very little of whatever market is left.

 

So I guess I really am getting the shaft. I have had my license for 2 years now and I am only making $20 an hour. I would say that is extremely low seeing that I live in Massachusetts not a state like Florida where you would expect lower incomes. I am actually taking home the same if not less money now with a license than I was 3 years ago as an apprentice. But hey, I still have a job so should I really be complaining?

 

Around $35 an hour, non union.

 

Know of anyone hiring?

 

Not right now. The oilfield in this part of the country is pretty slow.

My dad runs an electrical department at a local mining company.....he's been an electrician forever and never been out of work.

He's always looking for good electricians.

Starting pay is $24 to $26 depending on experience.

 

Central Florida is dry- the only major jobs going on right now are the Arena, & the Peabody annex which both are almost wrapped, and the VA hospital.
