Crappy picture, but you can see the bottom of the scoop at the top of the AC condenser, and how it pulls air directly behind the front grill (ram-airesque)

Brand new... it's a Jason brand topper, "Zone" model. Zone is their middle-of-the-road model. It's basically the way you get the all-glass rear with the cargo doors. The fancier models can't be had with the cargo side doors.

In my area, there are basically three options for color-matched toppers, ARE, Leer and Jason. After shopping all three, the Jason toppers were about $300-400 less than the ARE and Leer for equivalent options and I felt the build quality to be more or less equal. What ended up selling me was the guys at Waldoch (Jason distributors) were super helpful, not pushy, and wanted to know what I needed in a topper. The dealers for the other brands were super pushy and didn't listen. So Waldoch earned my business. Took about four weeks to show up form the date of order. The only knock was the factory sent it without the 12V dome light I had asked for. Waldoch has one on its way and I'll just drop back in for a quick install one of these days. Not a deal-breaker by any means. It's probably the least expensive part on the whole thing. Time will tell on the quality... I've only had it on for about two hours, but everything looks and functions as it should. Visibility out the back is better than expected. Ordered it with the drop-down slider front window option (only an extra $60) so we can clean the windows from time to time... I would highly recommend that option.

How much did the topper set you back?

I'm in the same boat. I enjoy camping, driving on the beach, easy trails and whatnot BUT it is my daily driver. I've only had the truck since August (didn't get it registered till November) and put 10k on it.. so I drive a lot. From the 50 miles I've put on the aal I can't honesty say there is any difference in the ride quality.

Thanks. The topper comes in real handy. I will never own a truck without one ever again. I believe it is a 1.5 inch spacer in the front and it has a 2 inch block with a 2 inch aal in the rear. The topper has always been on. Once I got the TSB leaf pack it dropped my rear end by an inch giving it slight bro lean. The aal gave me that inch back and a little over an inch of rake. I still need to measure my hub to fender so I have a reference.

But will look real cool at the mall and soccer nights. Also be a big hit with the kids on Halloween driving around the block.

Price with all options, installation and sales tax was about $2350. I think the base price with installation was like $1700. The cargo side doors with slider screens was a $400 option, the drop-down sliding front window was $60, black carpeted headliner was maybe $120 or so. Anything else I added, if anything, was pretty insignificant.

More water storage has been had. Brings me to 60L plus 20L fuel. 1 more fuel and water can each, and I'll be set. Should fit between the wheel wells nicely with all 6 cans.

Replaced my abs harness today, and to the engineer that decided to put a bolt on top of the strut assembly to where it's just to tight to be able to reach with a socket once it's a quarter of the way out and you have to do slow short turns with plyers...you sir are an asshole.....on the bright side my abs light is off but the traction control/stability control is still on...I followed the writeup on how to reset it with a wire but it would flash 4 times go off and as soon as I went to drive foward or reverse the light was back on:confused::confused::confused: anyone got any tips on that? 20180410_114014.jpg 20180410_114021.jpg

Replace batteries in my 2 fobs. Wasn't having any problems with them, but as it's been a year now that I bought the taco and not sure how long the old ones where, better being safe to change them out early. Been reading a lot about people changing them when they die and then have problems after new batteries are installed.

Replaced the passenger side wheel hub bearing assembly and the serpentine belt. I figured with 107k on the original belt it was time. I replaced the driver side wheel hub assembly last month.

I plan on doing this at some point. I'm focusing on maintenance stuff and replacing things that are close to wearing out. I'm gonna replace the rotors and pads next then replace the shocks and maybe UCAs. I have the same color truck, looks really good.

    Two kids.
Installed the new tonneau cover after an earlier shipping snafu by the manufacturer. I still think the tailgate seal is wrong. It should have the "dual action seal" so I can open and close the gate without opening the cover. Luckily I have another F1 sitting in my garage with the correct seal. I'll see if I can swap them out.

    This is a BakFlip F1.

So I backed my truck into my garage to work on it. I went inside to get something and I come out and theres the freaking guy saying hes writing me a citation for blocking the sidewalk. I said I am not blocking the sidewalk there is plenty of room to walk through. He says back to me “oh really” and proceeds to take photos of everything and he prints the ticket and puts it on my windshield instead of just handing it to me when I was standing right there. As you can see by the photos, there is plenty of room to walk but he wrote “100% of fr blocking sidewalk” I am assuming that the sloped part of the sidewalk is also considered the sidewalk? If so, then there is plenty of that to walk on. Anyone have any experience with this? Completely ruined my day. Check out my rant on my Instagram story @ryan_clowers.
