The metal bit that you run the zip tie through is what broke off, so I can't attach anything to the runner on the zipper :(

JB Weld a loop of paracord. Just do it carefully so you don’t screw the zipper.

Any pics of success with this method? Not trying to bust balls, I think you're correct.

Nope, haven’t broken mine but that’s been my plan for at least a temporary fix if I did.

Do you have work up on what you used for this set up. I like it for the fact I put a lot of crap on top when camping and adds security with the dogs so they don't bust out.

Planning to buy an RTT in 3weeks. So far wife and I have narrowed our selection down to 2 tents. It’s either a TuffStuff Ranger Overland Rtt or Tepui Kukenam Sky3 . Which do y’all think is best as far as quality? I’ve never seen or felt what type of materials they use so it’s very difficult to decide on which..

I’ve never seen the tuffstuff rtt but i own a tepui Ayer and it’s awesome. I picked it up from their warehouse and the people working there are real cool and great to talk to.

If you’re an rei member, you should look into buying a tepui today. I think (you’ll have to double check) the 20% member coupon expires today but can be used with the tepui and If you live near a store, You can save on shopping by having it shipped To The local store . Otherwise, if you need to wait, message @Box Rocket for the TW rate

Just your average 1" sq tubing, and 1/2" for the horizontal bars, the horizontals are removable ( just bolted in ) in case I ever need to remove the cage. The molle panels are from Greyman Tactical, just screwed to the horizontals. They have several different sizes and accessories. Some high quality stuff. Used primarily in military and LE vehicle applications. The bags are from my local Army surplus store. I carry a roof top tent pretty often and I like the fact I can keep my Bedslide open for larger stuff and the molle panels for smaller stuff like tools, air up/down equipment, etc. I mounted them towards the rear for easy access so I'm not having to climb into the bed to get stuff. With the different sizes they offer, I could have ran them the entire length of the horizontals, but stuff towards the cab would have been difficult to access. I thought about mounting them on hinges with locks so I could swing them towards the tailgate, but with the slight angle they would have swung oddly and slightly downward. I can get to everything easily especially with the Bedslide. I have since coated the metal with Por15 because I was getting some light surface rust. If I was to do it again I would probably use aluminum sq tubing to prevent rust and loose some weight, although the entire cage probably only weighs ~25/30 lbs at most. It has proven to be a very "user friendly" setup. Here is the finished setup with the Bedslide installed.

I have the TuffStuff Ranger and have used it many many time. It's great tent and a great price for all the extras.

Idk if someone has already answered your question properly but I’m 5’10 and my GF is 5’4” and we fit in there perfectly fine with plenty of room for the two of us. The tent is like 5” skinner than a full size bed.
