    Hello,
I'm looking for any advice on a 6" lift kit or possible other options for my 2017 Tacoma TDR 4x4. I currently have 33" tires on 16 inch rims along with Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks which get me 2.5-3" lift off the shocks. I have been calling around looking for a 6" lift kits and none seem to be compatible with 16 inch rims. I don't want to upgrade my rims until my tires need replaced. They are after market rims with a half inch offset to keep my tires from rubbing. My main use is over landing through the Nevada desert and rock crawling when needed which is about 2 times per trip. My current set up has done me well but I do scrape my side steps from time to time and don't want to wait until I do any damage to my under carriage.

So long story short is I'm looking for a lift kit that is compatible with 16 in rims.

i dont think any drop brackets work with 16s

and you say you scrape so you wheel right?
Why not just go sliders and skids? If you look around most people that wheel just go with the 2-3" lift and armour up.

Most guys looking at 6" lift are just mall crawlers but it sounds like you actually use it so not sure a 6" lift will be the right choice.
There is no guarantee you wont hit your steps or rockers etc with the drop bracket so you're better off being protected for when you do.

Thanks. I have skid plates but just the factory steps for now. Maybe I just need to upgrade to sliders. Ultimately I need to break down and get larger tires but have been putting off re-gearing.

and to answer your question I do wheel and we can get into some nasty roads. The truck can always make it but I want to cut down on the pucker factor when rock crawling. Thanks for the reply

Good advice here. I’m a 6” lift fan, but sounds like you just need some sliders.

i do plenty of rock offroading. i prefer rock to anything else.
hell I went through plenty of rock with nothing but sliders and skids lol only had 31.7" tires

sliders and skids go a long way. Still need to choose right lines but it will help you a lot.
Your steps are actually ruining your ground clearance, with a slider tucked up higher you should be good to go.
