Some worried with my accelerator pedal.
(I'll do my best to explain :

    there's a time lag when I press on the pedal;
1 or 2 seconds before getting acceleration

Otherwise, when the truck is running, there's no lack of power.
But everytime I release the pedal and press it again, there's a timeout.

Could the accelerator pedal sensor fail ??

Nothing to see with the fuel 'system, I guess ?

I'll be thankful with any idea

    Too many to count.
Could it just be the play in your pedal?

Likely one of the joys of drive by wire.

Is this something 'new'? I mean is the behavior something it never did before?

I would at least test the outputs of the throttle position sensor. It might be out of spec......

No, it's not just the play of the pedal.
I 've to press the pedal enterly before getting some acceleration.

Yep; it's new and suddenly; since yesterday
    Never did before

I would have a mechanic check this out. Troubleshooting the pedal position sensor is gonna be difficult.

    Sure.
But the nearest mechanic is at 200 miles from here.
That's why i opened this thread.
Maybe someone has experienced this issue and could give me an advice

Try cleaning the throttle body. Mine has a slight lag before responding. More so when I mash the gas.

Last week, I installed an oil catch can
    But I don't think it's the issue;
the first 5 days the truck runs great

Has anyone experienced a pedal failing ?
And been required to install a new pedal ?
    Or it never happens ?

The pedal won't be hard pressed to fail lol. The TPS (throttle position sensor) may be a possibility. But if the nearest mechanic is 200 mi how close is a parts store, or do you get mail there?

Nearest parts store with Toyota parts is 500 miles.
But parts from the US are overpriced.

Usually I order my stuffs online and I get them once a month (in the same town, 500 miles from here)

So, I'll order a TPS (Denso 197-60300, but I'm hesitating about ordering a pedal ....

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
Since you were just screwing around under the hood, I would go back and make sure no wiring harnesses are pinched, frayed, nicked, cut, or otherwise damaged. Check your battery to body ground, the battery terminal connections, and any wiring in the general vicinity of where you did the catch can install. Then...

Looking at the tests the manual calls for, they're just looking for a voltage (in range) somewhere across the 2 sensors. If you have a basic voltmeter, I would download the schematics/block diagrams for the accelerator sensor circuits and start testing. I'm ASSuming there isn't some additional sorcery going on with the Toyota tester and you just need to figure out a place to test the voltages.

The sensors are, AFAIK, just Hall effect sensors. They can go bad, but it's not common. I would suspect a wiring harness issue. Since you were just screwing around under the hood, it's possible you did something to a wire or have a bad ground (did you disconnect your battery or anything in the underhood fusebox?)

    Thank you.
So is my opinion, too : a wiring harness issue....

I didn't disconnect anything in the fusebox, but I had to remove some relais to find a good place for the oil catch can.
However, the acceleration issue happens one week after the operation...

    I'll check tomorrow

Well with no tools, no mechanic, and no patience, looks like you’re just going to have to throw parts at it. Do you have any low idle symptoms? Does the engine feel like it’s going to die coming to a stop?

    Negative.
    No low idle symptom
Except this lag in the throttle response, engine runs well.
    No check engine light.

    What's your idea ?

Did you disconnect the battery when you were working under the hood?
