Random question but I'm heading down to UCSD in July for surgery/chemo and will be in the hospital for a couple weeks. Looking for recommendations on a place in the La Jolla area that my wife and two young kids (1.5 and 3) can stay while I'm in the hospital that isn't going to cost us a fortune.

    Yes
Look north of La Jolla away from the touristy areas. There are a couple of hotels in Torrey Hills right where the 5 /805 split is that is only 5-10 mins from UCSD ( I assume you will be at the Thornton cancer center ). The Hilton Garden Inn is one of them, it’s a business travel area.

Just looked him up. First time hearing about him. Looks like he works out of his garage. Usually those are the best guys to use. Has all the tools too.

Yeah, I thought so as well. Just wondering if anyone has anything good or bad to say. I've emailed him and he got back to me pretty quick and from his instagram and website looks pretty legit.

So I recently got a Hobart 210 MVP and have been practicing with FC but want to start using gas. What gas and mix do people recommend?

Again, I'm new to welding so any other tips or suggestions on accessories I need to get when using gas are greatly appreciated.

Like said above most use a 25/75 (steel mix), some even use straight CO2.
Straight CO2 will produce a hotter weld and give slightly better penetration in thicker materials, however steel mix produces a cleaner weld and thats what most use.
I use 75/25 and it works great for everything I do.
You will be really happy with the improvement in welds using solid core wire.

Hey everyone, just wanted to show off my new setup and give a HUGE shoutout to Jason ( @Speed Freek )
My schedule has been crazy recently and Jason was super flexible and let me drop off my truck for the weekend. When I got back I was so stoked to see all the work he did! He treated it like his own and as always was great to chat with.
Here’s a list of the mods from this install:
    King 2.5 shocks (#700 springs) w/adjusters
    TC spindle gussets (w/swaybar mount)
    TC UCAs (uniball)
    Wheelers superbumps (front/rear)
    Wheelers U-bolt flip kit
    Rear bearing drop plates

His shop really looks awesome too! Great work space with access to everything. Thanks @Speed Freek !!!

(I’ll have some more pics of the install a little later)

It changes per job but let’s just say it’s wayyyyy below ORW or any other larger scale store/Offroad shop.
Shoot Jason @Speed Freek a message and he’ll answer any questions you got!

Ended up renting a small airstream through Airbnb in the Serra Mesa neighborhood for under $70/night before fees. Its a bit further from the hospital than some of the other options but we love camping so this should be good for the kids and we have a friend that lives a few minutes away so she can help my wife out with the kids if needed.

@Speed Freek you burn the spindle gussets on with them on the truck or do you have to pull the spindles?

Has anyone ever converted their floor jack into an offroad floor jack (ie. Pro Eagle)?

Working on a roof rack for my bed rack; it's pretty much ready to mount once the liner dries. It's made of aluminum U-channels and weighs ~45lbs. I decided to make it all bolted together so I can easily replace one of the slats if needed.

I think they sell the extensions separately, so you can buy that accessory. The skid may need to be custommade. I’d go for the skid over then air tires. More surface area to support the weight.
