Wasn't me, but I'll give it now... Put 75 miles on it today in total.

From first start this morning I noticed the throttle was much better than 1.03c. No weird tip in and very smooth. Mileage seems unchanged but if anything Slightly better.

My only gripe still is with the bump between feathering the throttle and pressing harder to accelerate. It was present stock and has been there with all tunes. It is the VVT kicking in and i'm not sure it can be eliminated.

From a back and forth with Matt long ago it is a limit on resolution of the maps that limits smoothing. VVT changes 30 degrees in like 1/2 second and causes that surge/bump. It's not horrible, but still annoying.

The thing I’ve noticed is it seems to idle lower so you’ve got farther to go to get into the power. I wouldn’t really call it loss of power myself, I’ve got more range to use. I’ve messed around and tried to stall it out idling and thus far have been unsuccessful at bogging it to that point. It just keeps going. Once you get up to about 1500 rpm is where it starts to move, but I expect that. Gotta have some revs to get moving.

Also the jump from 1 to 2 is pretty tall in this truck which makes it feel like you are either winding it up in 1st or bogging 2nd. That transition is much better being tuned though. I don’t really notice it like I did on stock.

In order to get reviews in here, I started asking everyone I send 2T3 to, to eventually post about their thoughts on it.

No need. The guy you had replied to isn't about to run 2T3. He's about to run a different ECU test map. My statement wasn't just for your benefit, it was for others who share maps

Really, the 1-2 shift sucked in the 2nd gen too. It was too big of a gap even on that truck. It's saving grace was better low end torque. The tune puts the 3rd gen on par with 2nd when comparing the 1-2 shift IMHO.

whats up TW. i was wondering if matt finished the tune successfully and finalized it, you guys/girls think it would work fine with a supercharger or his twin turbo? or do you think there will need to be further tweaking after adding a turbo/ supercharger? sorry if thats kind of a dumb question, not really too knowledgeable in this field. debating if i should wait for him to release his turbo or get the OV tune first. its just that i dont wanna keep updating the tune, so i'll probably wait for it to be finished:)

Sounds like a lot of R&D that i'm sure Mat is not ready for.... if your running a SC or Turbo kit, why would you want this tune anyway? You'd have to custom tune for the kit you choose.... a tune for a factory truck would most likely not work for what your trying to accomplish.

    Just food for thought.

You would not be running these maps with a FI system. These maps are for n/a applications, and a different map would be used with a turbo or supercharger. If you purchase his twin turbo kit eventually, I imagine he would provide a map and you would use his provided appropriate tune to go along with it, unless of course you got it tuned elsewhere. (It would only make sense that he would provide an appropriate map to run with the setup but you know what they say about making assumptions.)

Use that information however you will.

@mZiggy was nice enough to send over the tune! Thank you again.

Loaded it and put 20 miles on it, I can definitely say the hesitations and stuttering are much much better. I roll 2nd gear a lot and there is still a little remaining in between idle and 1500 RPM, but after that its so much better. The throttle tip in is much more predictable from a stop, have not messed with tip in and out at speed yet so cant comment on that. Power still seemed very good in all areas even with these adjustments.

Obviously 20 miles isnt a ton so ill report back after a few days as well :)

    Edit: 04b12 ECU 87 octane.

Thanks for the review, and at least on 04B10 ECU the T2 91 file has not changed in almost 600km. I'm thinking we're very close gents...

I probably just said it wrong. I was sent the proper files for the 04B11.
