lower on one side, pulls to that side while driving, after aal

After doing the toytec tsb aal, I have now noticed that my truck pulls to the right while driving, and the bed of the truck is an inch slanted to the right ( passenger side). I installed both aal's facing the right direction, also made sure all tires are properly inflated. Any one have ideas of what I could have done wrong?

 

Your alignment is off. Same principle as the TSB alignment.

Is it the driver's side that is leaning? Because that is very common with our trucks.

 

No it is the passenger side leaning, and it is just the box because if I stand behing the truck I can see the box is crooked compared to the cab.

I am at the alignment shop now and he is trying to tell me that the rear isn't alignable. Wtf?

If it is not alignable, why does the dealership do it for the leaf spring tsb? I'm really confused.. there is no way this is not fixable...

 

I'm not familiar with any alignment done to the rear. I don't know what he is talking about when he says "tsb alignment". Maby they sent you two different AAL's?

 

Um, ok well I guess I'm at the alignment shop paying for a 4 wheel alignment for nothing? if alignment is not adjustable, how is this supposed to get fixed? Did I mess something up during install?

i bet its the same as my truck, it pulls to what ever way the road is slanted, usually if your on the right side of the road its going to be slanted down to the right.

rear alignment is not adjustable on our trucks.

 

Well they just got it done, and I asked them if they fixed it, and they said yeah. I asked them how they aligned the rear, and they said, "same as the front", so thats telling me that somehow, it is alignable. Don't ask me how though.

I dunno, but the tracking problem is fixed. The bed still leans, but I'm going to blame that on one leaf settling faster than the other... hopefully that fixes itself.

 

Can you take some pics? I installed Toytec TSB AAL as well and there was no lean to the right (passenger) side. As the previous poster said, you might have gotten a wrong leaf. The rear axle doesn't have alignment adjustments, but I did notice that when I unbolted the u-bolts I was able to move the axle forwards and backwards slightly and I had to take care to make sure that the pin that holds the leaf springs together went into about the same spot as the recess in the axle. My pin didn't actually fit into the axle because I installed axle shims. I would think that having this set incorrectly would let the rear axle be pointed off center.

 

I will get a picture. I don't know how they fixed it, they had my truck about an hour and a half. When I checked the leaf springs from toytec they were both the same size.

 

i hate that! no, it's not just like the fronts.. maybe one side of the rears, was not perfectly sitting on the centering pin. who knows?

 

You are correct.
The rear is NOT adjustable.

OP should of asked him WHAT he adjusted?
Because there is nothing he can adjust, nothing.
It's a straight axle with a leaf pack and a shock attached to it.

I'm glad they got the alignment fixed for you, but, something sounds weird.

 

X10, our trucks have solid axle rear= no adjustment.
