I have for years. My eyesight has always been 20/40. Me and her went round and round about it and finally I just word them because she said it wasn’t for my license. Stupid on me for not thinking that one through. I was getting aggravated.
But chances are better than good I wouldn’t have passed anyway. I wear bifocals now. I wanted to try though.

Lordy, those people are a pain in the ass. Never seen one yet with a sovereign id card or drivers license. I had one tell me she was videoing our conversation on her phone camera yet had her finger over the lense the entire time.

You know what though? I think the cops enjoy it. I just watched one and after they cuffed him and put him in the car they picked up the phone that was still on record and you could here everything they were saying.

Oh, no doubt, they do stir the pot trying to get you to say something wrong or they can take out of context. They give themselves away usually with the first few words out of their mouth ("why are you harassing me" and "I'm a sovereign citizen"). I just shake my head, get to the point of the contact. When they ask the off the wall questions or make the off the wall statements I reiterate my position over and over and over and over till they see I'm not going to take the bait and they answer the question correctly. I often refer them to the PIO or law enforcement. When they state they want to make a complaint I refer them to the boss and give them the office phone number. I don't bait easily and they do wear down. They hate when you smile and say "have a nice day ma'am/sir" at the end of the contact.

In WI we can go into the eye Dr. and get the vision part of the renewal. Alot less painful than the DOT's test and it keeps the time at the DOT to a minimum:thumbsup: I used to always try without glasses first. After I could no longer pass without glasses I went with the eye Dr. approach. But this for a regular operators license not a CDL.
