Been awhile since I've logged on. Saw this video the other day though.

The dude made a terrible choice, is in a bad situation and maybe struggling financially with this happening... all with young twins and a family. I don't understand the pack mentality of people shitting on him and dragging him through the mud.

Like one guy said in that post, this community would serve itself better if this incident was used as a learning experience in the "wheeling/off road" and "recovery" forums.

 

I use corn meal based fertilizer that is also a pre-emergent weed killer. Applied it about 2+ weeks ago.

People shit on him because he was told by all the guys there don’t do what you are about to do, but instead ignored them and after repeated warnings not to do it, still did it anyways from what all the folks there were saying on social media.

 

At the end of the day you're right. But every forum is like a frat and we are all dicks just cause it's funny to talk smack hahaha. No one on this forum wants to see someone's Tacoma just get ruined but no one also has the sympathy for when they do dumb ish. Just like when people post how they wreck their truck drinking and driving everyone on the forum puts them under a shit storm.

Drinking and driving is not comparable to a poor off road recovery choice in my opinion.

When Young Brett forgot to tighten down his lug nuts and almost lost a wheel/tire - I would not be shitting on him if he caused major damage to his truck. I'd be bummed along with him.

I give him a little ribbing now because nothing happened other than a bit of embarrassment. And I welcome the same type of ribbing for the similar stuff I do.

But if something catastrophic happened to me and my truck, regardless of why, I would be disappointed in this community if it went off like some of the petulant keyboard warriors did to this guy for the past couple of days.

 

I guess I have a hard time understanding why you care so much from behind your keyboard and monitor.

I guess it's just a disconnect between my generation/mentality and the keyboard warrior's.

there is no keyboard warrior to it. Dude did some stupid shit, that very well could have got others injured if gone wrong, but yet you are ok with letting him slide? Fuck that non sense.
