How much hard time did you get. My cousin had a yellow one and people use to give him shit about it all the time about it.(cousin former defensive lineman at Norte Dame so wasn’t small)

I thought the yellow comment was in reference to his screen name, Speed God 6.

Not too late to exchange for a 4x4, before you begin to mod your current 4x2.

Yes this site is a poisoner of the mind. I planned on leaving it stock and enjoying it, but then I started to see stuff I liked then it was over from there. This forum is great and vendors appreciate it by giving discounts for group buys and stuff.

I miss Kaena before all the BS. Some spots were actually pretty challenging and fun for moderately stock trucks. Hated the mud, but the hill climbs, washed out bridge area, and the river rock beach were so much fun. Anyone remember this? 2013
Back when no one ran 35s on 3" lift, and over landing wasn't a punch-line.

Is that the trip where someone tried going through the mud pit with a brand new stock taco they bought the day before?

Pretty sure it was once, when I had a Prerunner. I made it out there fine on my own, since it was dry on the main trail. Then, y'all set me up to go into deep soft sand on the way out!

It was also the huge reason I was able to sell my Prerunner and buy a 4x4. So, truly appreciate the assist on the recovery, and more so on being able to get my current truck where it is today!

So I’ll be in Oahu at the end of June is it really that bad of a place for our trucks? Do I need to take extra precaution to assure my truck won’t get stolen?

Until then I’m out wheeling in San Diego. Also I am looking for a group to go wheeling with once I get to Hawaii

    Nice truck!

If you live on-post, you should be fine (but no guarantee). If not, try to get a place with a garage or secured parking (like a gated community or some roving security guards). Last resort would be a kill switch and/or reliable security system and wheel locks. Theft is no joke these days. I've been seeing more and more "Stolen Stuff Hawaii" on the book of faces -- mostly druggies.

As for a group for wheeling, you've found the right thread; but you might be disappointed. There aren't too many trails here on Oahu. There are also a few 4x4 and Tacoma/Truck groups on the book of faces if you search for them. Hope your transition goes smooth.

now that I think about it, the last two pics may be from another kaena outing. But yeah, it was like a week old and went through the mud pit.
