Seems that I am not yet accepted as a full member to this group. I need 50 posts to become one. I thought that service to my country opened doors, but not on Tacoma World. Please help me out with posts Brothers. Viet Nam 68/69 Marines.

    Too many to count.
While I appreciate your service, I hate when veterans try to use their service to “open doors”. It’s not why we served (at least not why I served). Military discounts and veterans benefits are an added bonus, not a given. I think you should check the attitude.

Thank you for your service! I'm sure you can respect that we have had members join, and some even impersonated military veteran status, simply to sell an item, and rip off other members. This is why we established the 50 post minimum. You are more than welcome to participate on the site at your leisure, and when the amount of postings need have been achieved, you are more than welcome to sell to the other members. If you are looking to sell soothing quickly, you might consider looking into your local "Craigslist" or other sales outlet.

First off, thank you for your service especially during a challenging conflict that saw a lot of young Americans taken from us.

Second, I don’t agree with the sense of entitlement or your statement directed towards TW.

There has abeen a history of members signing up to peddle their stuff and then leaving. In some cases with members money without ever fulfilling their end of the deal.

So, I’m regards to your comment about being a vet and doors being opened for your service. This is one rule no one gets a pass on unless there are significant extenuating circumstances.

Even the thread title is misleading...

Here we expect to find something about a vet needing real help. Maybe with the VA, maybe with a move or some other stuff but not to get a pass on a truck forum.

sometimes thread titles are misleading, sometimes vets are misunderstood...could he have worded it different? sure. Doesnt take long to figure out if they are going to be an asshat or not. Maybe Im numb to REAL entitled people because his post didnt seem like he was being entitled. :notsure:

Lamest request for a military discount ever.

So because you spent a bit of time in the military, you are above the rules?

Not so much that I served in the military. Just at 69 years old I guess I don't play well in what this world has become. Yeah kind of lame, I agree, just tired. I check on this site all the time, but don't post unless I have something beneficial to add. Oh by the way some time in the military means different situations for different people. Wilcam47 thanks for understanding.

We don't offer a senior citizen discount either.

At least you're another post closer to being able to sell.

Lol. Seriously? Time in the military gets you out of rules? Good try boss, but you don’t walk on water just because you served.

So I humbled myself admitted to my fault and I get replies like this. Could be why I don't post often.

i read this yesterday, i was wondering how long it would take for the MVP's show up LOL... there's a lot of Vets on this site and many who still serve and many who didn't want to or couldn't.. no one is given special treatment..glad you admitted your fault but you can't be that surprised by the responses by asking for a handout, seriously? as one vet to another thank you for your service but don't expect people to be very forthcoming or nice to anyone who blatantly asks for a handout, i don't and i don't know anyone who does

I'm a huge fan of veterans. But I also take huge issue with people who feel everyone else owes them something.

@tacobaker you do realize the ENTIRE point behind the 50 post minimum (which is NOTHING) is to prevent people from coming on here and simply scamming forum users right?
