The big brown truck brought my early birthday present. OEM all-weather floor mats. It took me an entire 2 minutes to replace the nasty carpet ones. They fit great.

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
I'm tellin' ya', man... Chevy yellow with all black trim/accents. Nature's way of saying "You don't want to mess with me.".

(actually I'm a bit of a safety nerd and yellow is a very visible color, "Toxic Green" is okay, too)

Looks great. Cadillac 4 Horn System? Is that your custom bracket or the one he makes if you don’t mind me asking for my future purchase. Fits perfectly. My plan is to do this and then mount two in each fender like the older but goodie Cadillacs. Looks great!

This is the 'Setup 1' which uses his bracket. If you look in the last few pages of the thread I posted a reasonably in depth writeup of the install process, since to my knowledge nobody had really tried to fit Setup 1 in a 3rd gen yet. I would have tried to fit stuff lower but I have a bumper and winch going in in the next few weeks and I didnt know how much room I'd have down there

Nice work! My dream is that someday trucks will come with an all rubber floor option (carpet delete) that extends beyond bare bones fleet models.

I wish, but we are too far down the gizmo road these days. Standard TSS-P on the 2018s has me at my personal cutoff. I'm going to attempt to keep mine going as long as I can. I still see '80s Big3 shitboxes driving around. I know for certain the Taco can do much better than that.

Yeah. Carpet is the worst, and everyone wants to cover up with all weather mats. Nobody walks into the dealership and asks for an upgrade to the "plush carpet model". Carpet and Chrome are stoopy and dumb and need to go away.

I do agree. I was a surprised how thin the carpet was on the Taco and our Forester. Might as well be a vinyl to start with.

I've blacked out most of the chrome. The stuff that I could do easily. The grille is next up.

The one advantage carpeting might have is a bit of noise dampening. ...but I agree, carpeting mostly just absorbs nastiness.

I hear that, in Japan, all auto carpeting is made to be removable for cleaning.

I do remember reading someone taking out the carpet and adding a rubber flooring saying the cabin noise was awful.

Did a lot of research on YouTube before I went with the Retrax brand, Retrax and GatorTrax seems to be identical. Out the door price was $1687 (Retrax Pro MX ) and some change with free delivery.

It works well for what I wanted it to do. I do hear considerably less road noise, and it helps with my new speaker sound quality. For just under 300, its a great way to upgrade the feel of the truck.
