About one hour before I can leave to go pickup my truck...it's going to drag!

Really excited to get it home and put the tonneau cover and mud flaps on and brake controller in. And play with all the modern things I've never had before (I must be the last 26-year old on the planet without bluetooth in his vehicle), and figure out how much of the stuff from the Tacoma I actually want/need to store in it.

 

The NRA gets me that way all the time.

 

Never though I needed Bluetooth. But holy shit, it is so convenient. I don't talk on the phone a lot, but when I do its so nice. And having a speed dial type thing on my radio screen so I don't have to even look at my phone to call me wife or parents.

 

I didn't bother with it when I replaced the head unit in my Tacoma...sometimes I wished I did.

LMAO!!!!!!!! You're probably right. Might be part of the reason why I am always grumpy as fuck as work. Or might just be the shit I get from all directions, and the feeling of constantly having to "defend" myself.

 

Honestly, I think the STX grille looks the best on the new F150. I love that look. The one you have is my second favorite and I'm really not a fan of the chrome front ends. Looks too car-ish.

I've loosely considered a 3/4 ton gas, I drive it too much though. Seeing that thing guzzle gas would kill me. I can't bring myself to get a Dodge gas engine, I don't have faith in them. Are you looking at the 6.4 or the 5.7? The 6.4 actually does the best on fuel economy out of all the 3/4 ton gassers because of that MDS setup. Ford and Chevy are just pigs. Across the board, supposedly the gassers get better MPGs with the lower geared rear ends (4.30 for Ford, 4.10 for Ram)

Never even thought about that. Sounds like it should be pretty straight forward. But if I block them, then I can't piss them off by making them list to Stern. Decisions decisions.

 

I'm 95% sure I'm going with a gasser because I don't tow anything spectacular. The heaviest load I'm likely to see is a few yards of gravel in a dump-body trailer, and that rarely. A gasser would more than handle it. Diesel would be fun, but with the price difference around here for diesel fuel vs the mileage between a gasser and a diesel it'd take a long time to see any savings. And I only put around 12K a year on my trucks, so it'd be a LONG time. Plus you can put more plow on the front of a gasser, since they weigh less than an oil burner does.

The truck I'm half-heartedly haggling over has the 5.7, and 4:10's or 4:11's (don't remember which). I like the idea of the 6.4; it's got a lot of tech in it and makes great power, but I just don't trust Chrysler/Fiat/Ram's MDS engines. The 5.7's I have experience with (a bunch of family members own them in 1500's & 2500's), and I don't know anybody with a non-MDS version that has had trouble with it.
Besides, if I buy a 3/4 ton, no matter who makes it, I'm buying an extended warranty to go along with it. Fixing 3/4 ton trucks is an expensive proposition otherwise.

I wish mine was the Opti, but it's the carb model. I think it's going to be quite a bit less efficient both fuel and oil. I really hope my oil consumption isn't too bad, I bought one of the large jugs of Merc Quicksilver oil, 2.5 gallons for $97.50. That will dent the wallet a bit on top of the fuel. I think mine is a 3 gallon remote tank as well.

 

I'm jealous of you guys with your oil injection; mine is hand-mix and it's a pain because of the mess.
