Any Ideas on a backup sensor for my truck

I do have backup camera but also would want to put a backup camera. has one one done this? please provide pictures and ideas.

Why not just learn how to backup without the help of a bunch of devices?

I drive through parking lots all the time now and nearly get killed by all the idiots who are watching their backup cameras and not turning around and paying attention to other vehicles around them.

My moms Lexus has a very nice backup camera, and backup sensors. Yet, she still managed to back into my Taco

 

Exactly. One of my colleague's wives managed to back up on the hood of his company car (a month after he started) because she was watching her backup camera and ignoring the beeping.

I saw an advertisement the other day for a Mercedes that applies the brakes if needed, corrects your lane position, wakes you if you are dozing off, and all sorts of crap. People are getting to lazy while driving thinking their cars are going to do everything for them. Thats why all these a holes on the road drive like shit.

No, I think it has to do with "Obama/Biden 08" stickers. They seem to make the car drive erratically

I find myself only using the backup camera to see how close I am to something. Like when I'm backing into a parking spot in a parking garage I will use to make sure I get real close to the back wall.

 

I have a Dolphin Echomaster backup sensor that slides into the trailer hitch and gets it's power from the hitch outlet. Sends info wirelessly to a receiver that plugs into a cigarette lighter. It beeps faster as you get closer and goes steady when you're within 3'. Got it about two years ago on clearance at Pepboys for $50.

I prefer it over backup cameras as I still turn my head to look back.

It doesn't work if the tailgate is down though. It thinks something is there. It'll also go off if it's heavily coated with dew (or snow).

I heard next cars will have steering wheel sensor so if both hands are not touching the wheel sensor will start beeping. It supposed to prevent people from using phones and sleeping behind the steering wheel.

 

sorry my bad. that was a typo about trying to install another camera. I am looking to install backup sensors on my truck. has anyone done this? any recommendations. I have these sensors in our minivan and it has saved us many times.
