Flat leaf packs?

Hello tw, i purchased a set of 3" all pro leaf packs about 6 months ago. recently iv noticed that they sit very flat. The truck rides fine but is this normal and a safe thing? Heres just a few pics and heres how the truck sits. Currently just worried because i plan on going on a cross country trip this summer.

Yea, almost looks as if they want to bend the opposite way.....

 

Don't know about the allpro's but that's normal for the factory springs. I think toyota just designed them that way, even brand new tacomas have flat leaves.

 

Yea that is true, which is why i havent questioned it before until now. I figure contacting all pro about this will be just like talking to a brick wall....

 

Allpro leafs seem to not last long. I have expo leafs and I think the only reason they haven't gone negative arch is the sumo springs I have on them. Their quality control is questionable. I would call them and make a stink. They shouldn't be negative arch.

 

Stock leaves look the same, my 2016 +3 leaf AAL had a good arch to it at first, but now it's looking much more like the photos you posted. I think the main problem is that they're a large number of thin leaves and they tend to individually fatigue over time.

If you look at smaller (2500, 3500) HD trucks, their leaf packs are typically 2-3 THICK leaves. The only time they use a ton of leaves is when you get something configured as a chassis cab with a 2-3 ton payload rating.

 

I agree, these leaf packs shouldnt only last for half a year before they sag....

 

Seems the standard is to measure the distance from the center of the hub to the fender. With that measurement you can compare it to others who have posted the same measurement.

 

OP, there is a reason why AllPro is not a vendor here on TW any more..... their QA and quality on their springs is sub par and many people have had the same issue as you. All pro standards shouldnt look like that with all of 200lbs of a cap or so in the rear of a truck.

From the look of it, any "lift" you are getting over a stock pack is not from added arch of the all pro spring, its simply the extra thickness of the allpro spring acting like a block haha.

I agree, any lift that the truck has in the rear is coming from the thickness of the leaf pack and not from the arch. Infact i think it has less lift then the pack thickness because the arch is negitive....

 

Yea iv had a 96 f250 that had front leafs that were very simular. Its seems like they all are that way. However i think that most people on here with aftermarket leaf packs in the rear of there tacomas have arch or should have arch.

 

I have measurements from when i first installed these leaf packs. Il compare them to what they sit at currently and what they sit at stock.

yea, i just contacted the company about it. allpro says that they "back up their leaf springs with a comprehensive 12-month warranty for non-racing applications and proper installation (with OE spring hangers, shackles and bump stops)." So il see what they will do for me.

 

Same here with the AllPro Expos but mine have not gone negative arch yet. My Icons in the front are adjusted all the way to the top and I am barely level. Had my AllPros for about 2 years now and starting to also get concerned.

What are the sumo springs you refer to?

Never mind, looked them up (Googled it). Noted that you have "Archive garage shackle flip with 5" shackle." Couldn't find one on their web site with 5" size unless that is their high end one? Questioning whether I want to do this (add the Sumos) or (and this should be for the original poster) go with Dakar's as they seem to have much better reviews???

 

Keep on top of them. I had an issue and didn't get a response until I called PayPal and cancelled payment.

 

I already payed for them. I doubt they will do anything about the issue due to how many bad things iv been seeing about them ever since i bought from them. Il give them a call later and see what they have to say about it.

 

Thyces - Would appreciate a photo of your rear suspension with the shackle flip and Sumo's?
