Maybe somewhere, LOL but yes they are incredibly effective at removing hornets nest and such. Good out to like 40 yards.

My neighbor had one really high in his tree and he wanted to try to burn it out and I finally convinced him to let me have At it with the shotgun. He was dumbfounded at how it vaporized the nest and then i waited about 15 seconds and what’s left of the bees re-coagulates where the hive used to be and you hit them again, and again and they never know where it came from unlike a hose.

Mines a newer model. Only a few years old. Put maybe 300-500 rounds through it and started having the problem. Are yours older?

The stock ones round out and have trouble catching the rim. My buddy ended up having the same issue on his 1187 a few weeks later. They use the same extractor. I told him about it and he had his swapped and no problems since eiher

Yeah, I was laughing my ass off to as I came to find out the farther away you are the more effective it was. When I was relatively close it would just punch the center of the hiv right out leaving the exterior but like from 30-40 yards away it just vaporized it.

It will be the best fun you’ll have with your clothes still on! LOL. Keynote, don’t move after you have shot. Stay still, load another round but don’t move, wait for them to re-collect.

Mines the 870 express too 18” barrel home defense gun. Pretty sure they all use the same extractor or Atleast have for a long time. Maybe they changed the steel used at some point. Going to guess in terms of production injection molded pieces are much faster and cheaper to produce than machined ones. Maybe the military and police versions came with machined ones. I’ll see if I still have my old one laying around so you can see the wear. Here is a pic showing the difference. You can see how much more angular the machined one is compared to the Factory MIM version

And if they’re in the ground like by a tree, just take about a cup of gas andPour it in the hole at night and stick a rock on the hole, I stress!!!!!! “do NOT light the gas”

Best way is throw a screen overtop. Then pour gas down with the screen over. Then you don’t have to worry about one of those bastards coming at you, unless it’s night time

I use a big pot of boiling water and dish soap for ground hornets; it's more environmentally-friendly than gasoline

I ordered the non MIM version when I got the shotgun so my boyfriend can change it out if/when it wears out

Probably gonna be a when, not so much an If. Personally I would change it out now and be done with it. Took me 30 seconds and didn’t even need to dismantle the firearm
