I think it was pretty funny that Brett and I both came to the same conclusion last night within minutes of each other. Like, we were both literally pressing the same bearings and retainers in the same axles at damn near the same time. I had already taken the pics that he had asked about right before he posted up!

But regardless of where you heard it first, I’m just glad Brett’s truck is back on the road and mine will be soon. The fact that these axles can be used on the newer 1st Gens is just icing on the cake.

 

Not quite on the road yet. Still need to finish the other side tonight and then button everything up. Hopefully rolling tonight, as I'm still planning on heading back to UT Friday. Cutting it a little close.

 

You buy a walmart special tent for the time being? haha

 

Tents I have. I'm more worried about figuring out how to pack without the covered storage.

About to pull the trigger on some rear super bumps.

 

I pmd them through here with a part # and they hooked it up

 

I'd recommend getting the bumps without the mounts and fabbing up your own. Pretty simple thing to weld up, and then you can make them whatever height you need to work with your leafs and shocks. Cheaper that way too.

Or while you're at it get the 2nd gen U bolt flip kit as it has bolt on mounts for the super bumps and just modify the tubing to set the height you want.

 

80 axles are both offset to the passenger side.

 

I have FJ80 Rear. It's offset to the pass side 3-4 inches I'd say. I haven't had any problems with it though. The rear disk brakes are a nice upgrade too.

 

If you need some mounts built let me know. I can get them made for ya in a jippy.
