I just bought my Ray 10s from a local Toyota dealer and BFG 275/70/17s from TireRack. My neighbor has a mounter and balancer in his garage so spent a few hours Sunday mating them up. Took it on a test drive to see how much road noise the KO2s would produce but couldn't get out of the driveway due to rubbing :annoyed:.

Replaced the stock set and prepared for an emergency lift kit order. Fortunately, I had a kink in my martial money laundrying operation so I need to wait a couple days. Last night I threw back on the Ray 10s to see how much lift I needed to clear my wheel wells. It looked like I was just rubbing on the mud flap and the front fender skirt. Cut some of the plastic away with a sharp knife:

I'm curious if anyone has had experience "plugging that hole"?

But I'm back in business driving my new Ray 10s!

I'm still super jealous of the bronze rims. I wanted them, but the wife didn't like them.

Not the exactly but kinda. I only went up a size to 265/70/17 (Falken Wildpeak) and was surprised to experience any rubbing since so many go +1 without any problems. It was only rubbing on the inner fender liner in the front and back plus on my duplicolor mud flaps. I had seen @Rob Daman ’s video on tire rubbing so I grabbed the heat gun and went to town. I was willing to cut but wanted to see if I could do without it. Using the heat gun worked really well and now I have only minor rubbing turned in reverse. I was gone alter the liner even more to eliminate the rubbing completely but the wifey was like “just order your lift already”. So I hit up @eccracer104 who was able to get me a a great deal. Fast forward a few weeks to yesterday and these came in...

I had planned to get the lift all along. This just sped things up a little. :D

Has anybody used any type of matte wheel protection products on these wheels? If so what do you recommend? I drive in snow and salt a lot and want to keep them looking good.....

Something simple you could do every wash is spray Carpro's Hydro2 on then rinse off. It's a spray on/rinse off sealant. A more permanent solution would be something like Gyeon Q2 rim ceramic coating.

Felt good about a simple mod then even better when I saw the pic I shot doing it. Thought I'd share.

Funny how the Copper Ray 10s steal the show no matter what the real subject is.
