2017 Tacoma Phone Mount

I hit up the seller when I ordered mine, it took a couple of extra days because someone posted this on the Tacoma facebook group and he got inundated with orders. Mine came with the magnet, but i didn't like the angle it sits, luckily it was just stuck on there with the cheap glue that comes on the magnet so I popped it off and stuck on one that has a little swivel. I recommend a little piece of double sided tape on the top part that hooks onto the dash to prevent it from slipping around, but otherwise it's a great product.

 

I did the same thing with the seller and using a piece of double sided tape to mount my Scangauge. Works perfect.

 

Thought I would share. Used his mount with a Proclip phone mount specific to my phone and hard wired:

 

I like the that the power wire is out of the way

 

Wires in the way of the center controls drive me nuts.

 

CAVEAT EMPTOR!

Ordered and paid for two mounts, received only one. Contacted seller six days ago, unresponsive. Have opened a dispute with CC.

 

How much does that little clip usually run if not sold out?

 

Paid $35.80 for two. There is more to it than just the little clip.

 

Not a bad price at all. Sucks that you didn't get what you ordered though.

I went through a rash of bad online deals a few months back. Luckily, even when Paypal still tries to screw me....my USAA credit card backs me and handles the situation properly.

Damn, I somehow completely missed that you had contacted me. I can't apologize enough. I'm typically very responsive and have helped customers with issues before with no problems. I'll get a second one out to you as soon as I get off work and I'm going to go ahead and issue a refund on the purchase price for the trouble. Again, my apologies for not seeing the email.

 

It's a great product - simple and effective. And above is a good stand-up response.

Looks like a nice/simple mount. Is there anything protecting the dash from being scratched?

 

Not sure where the dash might be scratched? The mount fits over the plastic bezel surrounding the radio. The bezel itself is easily removable by simply pulling from right of the radio. You can pull the bezel out with the mount attached.

YES indeed, it is a great product.

 

Have not had any issue. Phone mount is probably softer plastic than trim piece so not likely to scratch, and it seems to stay in place with no movement. Have not noticed any marking/wear to trim.
