Yea , I don’t trust myself to do much mechanical anymore . If there is a problem I bring back to Toyota ! Plus I am getting a new frame after today’s inspection!

 

I plan on doing the small work, but I don't feel comfortable messing with the transmission change.

 

Having the same issue with my truck. I hardly ever tow but this past weekend I was towing a 10 foot trailer full of limbs and stuff I had cut down in the yard, couldnt be near the 6000 lb limit. I kept getting a strong burning smell and wasnt sure if its was trans fluid or brakes. Truck has 165k on it and I havent touched the brakes or trans fluid, bought it with 140k on it so not sure if and when the previous owner had touched them, brakes feel fine but Ive been wanting to check both anyway.

Anyway, the OP said you were getting the trans fluid changed. Did this help your issue?
