Nothing fancy just something to get around and go on the occasional trail ,KD max tune, Dry filter aFe intake. TE37X 16×8 -20offset wrapped in 285/75R16 Yokohama Geolandar M/T. Fox 2.0 up front and fox 2.0 with resi non-adjustable.
So I've gone through everything I can think of but in still getting a cylinder 3 misfire. I have not gone to the dealer because I'm passed the 36k of full warranty. Anything over 36k doesn't cover sensors or any electrical issue. I just want to try and see if someone can help before breaking the bank and taking it to the dealer... The issue is not the powertrain at least I believe, compression checked out good 150 all around, I'm losing my mind over this. I don't believe the MAF sensor would cause a single cylinder to misfire, so I'm thinking a vacuum leak, but I'm not sure... anything will help.. really appreciate it. Tired of breaking my head over it.

Believe these engines are coil on plug? I'd pull #3 and look it over. Check the plug, connection to coil etc. They make a light you can put at the end of the coil where it goes into the spark plug that will light as it gives voltage to that spark plug. Easy troubleshooting would also change the coil to another cylinder to see if the problem follows. Have you checked the wiring? Mice problems??

If you've changed plugs and coils with the same issue present it's not an electrical issue. Could be a fuel injector not providing enough fuel or to much. Only other option would be ECU signal or like someone else mentione a bad wire. Check for mice and if no signs take it to the dealer to fix it.

When you say you are getting a cylinder 3 misfire is it constant... like CEL lighting up? How many misfires are you getting in a cycle?

Have you changed out the CPS? It would be a shot in the dark but could be a source of a Misfire.

Swap wires and try again to test them.

Yeah took it in for the recall but I'm thinking it may be failing now

Thanks! Yeah tried the swapping injectors around also and still cylinder 3. Ducks! But I'm going to cave in and take it to the dealer..

I still doubt that’s it... if it were the CKP it is highly unlikely to be a specific cylinder misfiring... it would most likely be random and across all cylinders. Still worth a check but given its only cylinder 3 seems fishy to me

Not always true. Wiring to the coil could be faulty as well. I asked about if he may have mice. OP start back tracing the wiring. See if you could get a ignition diagram. It could also be fuel related as said above. Faulty or sticky injector.

I just read all the pages in the file, I'm wondering if my exhaust will make the dealer not want to touch it... but I've had the exhaust on it since it had 5k

I'm betting it's something with wiring to the coil. Engines suck, squeeze, bang, and blow. You are getting fuel, the plugs and coil is good. It's something back from that.

Yeah I'm thinking the same but as far as the eye can see without dismantling everything I'm not seeing any messed up wire. Unless I'm not looking hard enough! I'll go over it once more in daylight. Thank you.

Exhaust won't cause a misfire unless you are dumping from the manifold. They won't honor an exhaust issue, but misfire is going to be electrical or fuel related in your case.
