    She ain't stock anymore.
We just installed fox 2.5's on my truck and adjusting them on the truck was a PITA. @foxrcing07 could probably explain a lot better than me, but we kept having issues with the coil binding on the split ring. We ended up pulling them off the truck and using spring compressors to set the ride hight, and even that was not an easy task.

I know what you mean. Same thing was happening to me. I somehow got it past the split in the collar. I might might have used a flathead screwdriver to give it that little extra it needed to clear the gap. It was a blur of cussing and knuckle banging, so I blocked it from memory.

Was it because the keeper nut was loosened too much? If it’s not that expensive to take it to a shop to adjust then I don’t mind paying. My only concern is fine-tuning the coilovers to the exact height I want.

What is the deal with these coil overs and not being able to reasonably adjust them on the truck. That is total BS in my opinion and could be easily improved with some type of washer or ring that goes between the coil and the adjusting ring. That and why they went with a split ring collar is beyond me, can someone tell me the advantage of the split ring verses a second jam ring?

I know someone will post, "how much do you really need to adjust?" and the answer is this, enough to make it worthwhile for a better ring/adjusting system. They really expect you to install these shocks and simply guess at the height you want, then take the whole thing out to "guess" again and repeat and repeat and repeat LOL F That.

I would really like to know from the experts why these shocks are not made to be adjusted on the truck?

No, it only happened on the first or second time going around. After that it wasn't a problem. But at that point I made sure to keep turning with force until I cleared the split with the end of the coil.

Most of us can and have adjusted on the truck without too many issues. My biggest issue was that I installed my coils with the keeper nut on the backside, making access to loosen it VERY difficult. In the end I figured it out and was able to adjust on the the truck.

Edit: what are your options? King are the same way, not unique to fox.

I have zero issues adjusting them on the truck. I find it very simple and a 10 minute project, which includes getting the jack and tools out. I've done it 4 sepererate times.

Currently doing my install. I noticed that the keeper nut is facing the opposite side and I’m not able to access it to adjust my shocks once they are installed. Help here!

I don't have my shocks yet so havent done it but they state your not supposed to do it on the truck. I get the fact you can but just can't see their point in how they make them, you would think that adjusting them on the truck would be a marketing thing.

I don't have mine yet but would assume you need to put the set screw to where you can get at it before you install them so it faces the wheel.

Wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of having to compress the shocks/droop the suspension to adjust the ring?

I think were talking about two different things. What are you referring to when you say keeper nut is facing the the opposite side?

The nut you need to loosen to adjust the coilover height

You have to loosen the set screw on the split ring collar and then turn the collar, if you loosen the set screw too much the collar with jump the thread and you will damage the threads. If you can't access the set screw in the split ring collar then you will have to remove the entire coil over from the truck to gain access to it, you would then turn the collar so the split ring side faces out or towards the wheel so you can get at it. Once your done adjusting your height you would leave the collar so the split ring faces out so you have access to re tighten it. You should also jack the truck up so the front wheel hang and lube the threads on the shock collar.

I don't have these shocks yet and have yet to do this but from what I've read and understand this is correct, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I understand that it’s required to loosen the set screw to adjust coilover height. My question is, will I be able to turn the set screw to face outwards without a spring compressor?

It won’t be an easy task with the spring fully tensioned agaisnt the collar.
    Can it be done?...probably.
Would I do it that way?...heck no.

Yes. Very easily. Listen to a guy that's done it multiple times or listen to people who don't even own them yet (I'm not talking about anyone in particular). The choice is yours?

Adjusted mine on the bench with a legitimate compressor. Not the two screw type. Still sketchy AF.
