New tires are great. The old tires on the car you think were really good but wait till you put new tires on. You didn't know how bad the original tires were. Got new Cooper CS5 Ultra touring is on my wife's car big difference, much better handling than the Hankooks however the Hankooks were better than I expected over the lifetime that I used them.

I recall when I put a new set of Metzler tires on my motorcycle. The old tires were good, but worn out. When I rode off on the new Metzlers it was like the bike had claws that were digging in to the pavement - so incredibly much better.

My neighbor has a Whaler rage he's been dicking with for a year or two. The OMC engine shit the bed so he pulled it, mounted a kicker so he could go fishing with it. Now he's looking to add a larger outboard in the center of the stern. Ehhh...

 

Yea I haven’t done bottom paint in maybe 3-4 years. Probably due.

There’s a guy out east CT that remanufactures OMc’s it’s not the cheapest but it’s less than a new motor.

 

When in doubt...thin it out.

I switched to latex several years back...more betterer.

2 coats full strength on the water line and thin the piss out of it for the rest.

 

Interesting. Can I apply over an ablative?

Why do you thin it down below?

 

Right over the old stuff. Easy clean up.
Most of the salad grows on the water line and little on the bottom. I used the boat a lot, so it didn't sit and grow things.
Couple times in the summer, I'd jump in the water with a scrub brush and hit the waterline.
My bad, I thinned the old style paint, not the latex.
I got full coverage with a quart on a 20 footer.
As with any ablative, it does't matter if you miss a spot or two on the bottom as the paint always releases new biocides.

Im finishing up the pro suspension and was planning on pads and rotors while the truck is apart. But would you swap these out? 107k miles on original equipment, truck still rides great. Pads appear to have more life left...if it ain't broke don't fix it right??
