I agree my friend. Certain parts are now engineered to last the length of the warranty period. It's all about profits and staying in business. I still have a belief that most Japanese are better than others though.

Just finished TIG'ing up a portion of my aluminum axle back exhaust.

Made the downpipe Tuesday evening too.

I already have a reservoir being modified to fit in the factory location. It’s being made by someone who only wants to make two.

I can come up with something though.

This is exactly what I tell a lot of people when I am talking to them about their cars. There is also the pressing problem that people want more, more, more out of a vehicle (they expect it really) for the same price as standard. If you add tons of bells and whistles, something will break. The more computers and sensors you got, the easier something will break.

I do agree, Japanese cars are still the better, of course there is still the throwaway Japanese brand (Nissan) which are definitely designed to last just past the warranty period before they leak and get full of electrical quirks and bugs.

I work at an independent automotive repair shop. Nothing special, but we do take pride in the work we do and do everything we can to ensure the quality of the parts and the level of repairs exceed ours and the customers expectations.
