I did something like this to mine. I bolted it to the truck so it's more difficult to steal.

Nice. I like that. Looks like a solid footprint for the jack when on soft dirt/sand. I may have to try something similar.

So I got my truck back from Pro Gear today. They installed Nitro 4.88s front/rear and an ARB air locker for the rear. I did the following today for breaking it in and will resume tomorrow after it gets a full night's rest.

Drove ~13 miles from their shop to my house and went no higher than 60mph.
Let the truck rest for about 30 minutes.
Drove 1 mile to the gym.
Let the truck rest for about 1 hour.
Drove ~13 miles from the gym to somewhere in La Jolla to grab dinner; no higher than 65mph.
Let the truck rest for about 45 minutes.
Drove ~15 miles home; no higher than 65mph.

Question though.. how do I go about breaking in the front gears!?

Oh, also.. instead of using 85/90-140 oil in the front and rear. They used straight 90 in the front and straight 140 in the rear.

A few 2x6 scraps work well to distribute the weight a bit too and can be used for other things if needed (like under tires to level the truck for sleeping).

Thank you!! Was a pleasure helping with your build, it came out great!!

It varies but shoot me a PM if you didnt already (havent checked yet and I have a lot, lol)

The ones with sway bar you need to fully strip and remove the spindle in order to fit and weld it. The ones without I can do on the truck.

Possibly a dumb question but are there any methods of beefing up the stock power steering system?

Steering reservoir upgrades? More capacity? Aluminum? Finned?

    Running larger hoses?

    Running two pumps somehow?

Stacking hydro-assist on top of it?

There are a whole bunch of metal fabricators in sd yet I really don’t know any of them, lol.
If you are into the lightweight prerunner look could talk to a few fab guys to see if you like them.
Off the top of my head you have
    Jd fabrication
    Esb fabrication
    Richer racing

Probably a ton of other guys that do this stuff on the side of there house that I’m out of the loop on.

Little bit confused on what you are trying to accomplish. Assuming more power out of it. Problem is it’s a whole snowball effect with a ton of work.
Been researching it on my truck too.

I have had 2 windshields done here. Super cheap and excellent work. Free chip repairs for the life of the glass. I think I paid $80 for my last windshield.

They did my 4runner and Tacoma and a few other cars for me. They use pgw or pilkington glass if you request premium glass vs the cheap China glass. No issues, very fast and friendly customer service

Wassup guys, hope everyone is doing well!

So I've got my siding done on the containers for the shop so I can move on to the roof portion, so thats done (well except for a little bit of trim on the backside), really stoked about that. But first I need to put in the fence and build my gates.

Next on my list is finishing my fence, I ran about 150' of Cedar down the side behind my shop, so now I get to do the chain link, about 500 feet of it!

I'm mapping out the pole locations today and Im gonna probably gonna go buy a posthole auger from Harbor freight and start punching holes.

Anybody have much experience with chain link and have any tips, or if bored enough even want to help if there is enough food and beverage, lol? Or maybe know of a good supplier for materials? After doing some quick searching It seems that Home Depot is the cheapest (if you get bulk pricing on a quantity of 10 or more) so I may go with them unless anybody has some suggestions of other places that may be a better bet.

But I called a couple of fence places and they were pretty expensive for the the chain link (fabric) alone. Literally a $50 per roll difference, thats crazy, HP has them for $79, fence place had them for $129 sheesh, thats quite a variance!

Anybody know of where I can find some control arm bushings for my 1st gen 98 5 lug 2wd Tacoma?
I am having quite a difficult time trying to find these damn things!
The LCA is just a single arm with a single bushing (completely different from the Pre-runner with a wishbone type).
I've heard of Whiteline but I can't find find the bushings for my application. For such a common truck Im surprised, everything I find is for the Pre-runner/4wd chassis.:(

Most people just replace the whole arm on the 5 lug, or don’t even bother replace it at all
