    Hey all,

So after having been involved in an accident which totalled my 2016 about 1 month ago, I am now back in a 3rd gen. Picked up my 2018 Taco today and I feel right at home.

    Initial driving impressions:

I forgot how comfortable it is to ride on stock suspension with the stock tires hahaha. Feels smoother than I remember? Haven't turned on any of the TSS stuff yet. Love the new car smell, and I survived going back through the same intersection that cause me so much grief in the first place.

Were you not able to get your mods from the destroyed truck?

To get them back I needed to give them the OEM parts I replaced, which I had long since sold. I got money back from the parts though

What about those mods you added, not replaced, for example sliders and ditch lights? You couldn't take them off either?

I didn't have ditch lights on at the time. Just a light bar and fog light LED pods (both destroyed). Sliders were a bit weird because when I went to grab my belongings form the salvage yard, they said that you basically can't unbolt items etc. etc. I wasn't too bummed because I didn't get good sliders the first time around and wanted to get new ones anyways :p, and because I got money back for them

Oh, also is it a new thing for 2018 TRD OR's to have colour matched rear bumper caps?

I was expecting chrome and was pleasantly surprised

I think I read that's based on stealership location. I bought my '16 new on Guam and my caps were paint-matched, along with all the other new tacos I looked at. The only chrome ones I've seen were from new dudes that moved from the states and kept those hideous chrome covers for whatever reason.

Nice choice in color btw!

The color matched bumpers are from one of the packages (tech or prem). I have neither of these and my bumpers are chrome. Congrats on the new ride!!

Interesting. I'm in Canada where we don't have packages laid out like that. I ordered "TACOMA 4X4 DOUBLECAB V6 6A SB with Standard Package $42,505"
