Yeah, I actually enjoy work...I've had opportunities to move over to the private sector (which would mean significantly larger paychecks) but I couldn't imagine I'd get up and want to go to work every morning in those jobs, so I never pursued them. Don't get me wrong, there are days where I get frustrated or don't want to be here, but they're few and far between.

On another note, put OEM mudflaps on the F-150 yesterday--don't know why they don't come with them. And installed the OEM brake controller and reconfigured the ECU to know it was there. It was painful to tear apart the dash of a brand new truck, but everything came apart relatively easily and went back together fine. Based on my ~200 miles so far, I think I'm averaging between 2 and 3 MPG better than the Tacoma on the same drives.

Glad you are happy with the new truck. What do you think the fuel savings translates to in money saved

Let's see, @ 20k/year, let's say the Tacoma got 18.5 average and this truck gets 20.5 average which might be pessimistic based on what I'm seeing. That's 1081 gallons vs 975 gallons. I have run premium in both, so say $2.80/gal, at least $300/year.

EDIT: This also assumes the computer is correct. I find they're usually not. I'll have to do the math myself for a few tanks and see how close it is.

Ha, yeah, but between equity in the Tacoma, money down, and the price I got the truck for it's not awful. Hoping to throw enough at it to have it paid off in three years, but I also have a lot of projects I want to do at home so that may be optimistic.

Got to say, I was super impressed with my local dealer here, which I didn't expect because I had never really heard any positive feedback about them (but not much negative either). Haggling with the sales guy was all of 30 seconds, he didn't have to play the "let me go see my manager" game or anything. He was very knowledgeable about the truck, it was the first time I didn't go in knowing more than they did. Didn't try to push me out of ordering one once he realized mine was an uncommon combination. Finance guy wasn't even a pain about anything.

    Morning all!
    Edit-
Ugh. I've never put much faith in the whole "Friday the 13th" BS, but so far today I've gotten at least 1 call from Every. Single. Warehouse. About something they've screwed up and need me to call a customer about.
    :frusty:

I have one of those, but it's a 250 gallon oil tank

I've got chains welded on each end so I can drag it around the property with the tractor when we're cleaning up brush or branches from firewood trees.

Still playing catch up, but all this talk of grilled cheese & not a slice or slab of bacon in sight? Can't have grilled cheese without bacon!

My mom has to replace her oil tank--standard 275 gal. I want the old one to turn it into a utility trailer or two. Does that make me a redneck?

Clean it out, burn it out and make it into a smoker. Then you will be a redneck

Both my uncle and I had some fun in my dads car. Wasn't an official unmarked, but hD every thing needed.
One year around xmas, a bunch started drinking (normal activity) at my uncles garage, my dad stopped in and joined then (not normal). At some point they decided to take my dads car out, I heard the police looking for them on the scanner, the story is my dad was passed out in the back seat, while they drove all over town with the blue lights flashing, then hid the car back in the garage for the night. I remember them dragging my dad into the house, then bolting quickly.

A few years later when I was driving, my buddies an I would drive around on the back roads, when we saw someone, we think we knew, we would toss on the blue light and haul ass up behind them. My dad did ask me about it once, and of course I didn't know what he was talking about.

I guess? They make good trailers for mulch/chips/topsoil if you lay them on their side, cut along the seam, and peel the top up to make walls. :notsure:

You're one of those heat generator people! My nephews will be pulling off clothes outside at 0F & still be hot. Me, I'm chilly at 80F.
