    No. Nope. No Way.

Stock system with a decent tip is just fine, at least for me.

yeah anything but stock (or TRD system) sounds like death on these trucks. IMO.

Our American Thunder Cat-back system utilizes a Flowmaster 50 Series muffler. The 50 Series is a "chambered" muffler which means it will provide a deep, slightly bassy tone. This muffler will provide your Tacoma with a moderately aggressive exhaust note that will be noticeable both in and out of the cab. Our American Thunder Cat-back system (part #817432) is 409S stainless steel, mandrel bent, made in the USA and includes a lifetime limited warranty. You can check out a clip of the system here and of course you can always call us at 707-544-4761 with any questions you may have.

If you don't mind cranking up the volume to hear your tunes. My last taco had duel flows and was very loud in the cab. Go for the mildest you can get.
On a good note, my MPG was better on that truck with duels & man 6spd.

It comes down to do you want to hear, or be heard?

Yes, I prefer a brace of pistols for a duel. I'd find an exhaust system to be unwieldy and fairly silly.

This is on my 3rd Gen, but I've had three exhaust kits and the @Flowmaster Exhaust dual kit is the only one that I think got the sound right. No drone in the cab while on the highway. Nice growl when you start the truck and when you need to get on the gas, but quiet otherwise.

Tried the 40 flowmaster and just does not do it for me. Went back to stock. Apparently the angle of the v is not conducive to good sound. Had a 4
.0 Ranger that sounded great with the flowmeter.
Oh well, Still love the Taco!!

Here is a sound clip of mine on my 2017 3.5 6sp,I also added the URD Y pipe /cat delete that gets rid of the two downstream cats. I ran it up to 80 pretty hard then backed down to a 75mph cruise with window down and up for comparison.

Our only single exhaust Cat-back system for the 2005-2012 Tacoma is the dBX Series (part# 819144) which utilizes the Flowmaster dBX Series muffler. This muffler will have a noticeably different tone when compared to the 50 Series muffler used in our American Thunder Cat-back (part# 8174320). I have included a short clip below if you'd like to hear the dBx Series Cat-back in action. If you have additional questions or need further recommendations please feel free to PM me or call us at 707-544-4761.
