Let's Talk Lift/Level...Any 2" front - 1" rear Levels?

and you sport and OR owners have to remember that us lowly SR5 owners are already 1" lower than you guys from factory..so we need a little more height for bigger treads..

 

Where did you get the spacers and blocks, if I may ask?

 

spacers on Amazon and rear block spacers from local 4x4 shop with new u bolts

 

How do you like the ride ? I’m in Massachusetts so I’m limited as to what I can do for a “lift” and I don’t do any off-roading besides dirt roads and beaches

 

I ended up with a 1/2 in lift except on driver I did 1in. Now before you laugh at me hear me out as I think it will be pertinent to what you're doing. I started by putting 265/75/16's on and I thought the looked funny in the front with very little gap above the tire and the 1/2 lean on the driver side. So I bought 3 1/4 inch shims from Wheelers and installed 2 on the driver and one on the passenger, this leveled the side to side perfectly( I did this on my Tundra so knew it would work). But after seeing the 7/8 in lift driver and 1/2 in pass the truck looked nose high to me since I like a little rake. So I went back to Wheelers and bought they're 1/2 in spacers, I was able to use the factory u bolts and I like the way it sits now.

Did you go with the aluminum or poly spacers?

 

its a little stiff but could be the load E tires i have on too

 

Aluminum everything, the front shims come black and the rear blocks come silver bare.

 

Hey you're the only other person on the forum I've seen so far with the same wheels as me! Except I took my center caps off since I didn't like how they looked. I have a suspension lift though at a little over 2"~ since my 285s rubbed when they were set lower at 1.5"

 

You wheels are the same offset also? -14 I believe? I've been thinkin about going to 285s but I was scared they will rub like crazy... as my 265/70s already do rub with 1.5" lifted. I would get 887 coils to achieve 2.25"~ of lift to fit them.

What's your setup exactly...I'm curious now. And where did you get new center caps at?

I believe my wheels are the same offset.
I rubbed a lot at 1.5". I pushed my caster forward but it still rubbed near full lock. I adjusted the coils so it's around 2+ but not sure exactly and there's no rub at all except when reversing at full lock, oddly enough. I also trimmed my mudflap in the center, which helped a lot. No CMC yet. Actually no center caps at all. The front looks fine but the rear has some surface rust on the hub. I'll eventually sand it and paint it flat black.

Quick Follow up question here fellas with a slight deviation from my original post...I now have an '18 TRDOF 4x4 DCLB and want to go with the same lift...
Will the factory rear shocks be ok with a 1" block? How about a 1.5" block?

My shocks were fine with the 1" block, but I don't wheel my Taco. If you wheel it, I would get a longer rear shock so there is no shock over extension when at full rear axle articulation.

 

So then it is safe to say that if you add a 1' inch in the front you should be level all around.

 

I have 1 3/8” difference now stock. I am seriously looking into a Summit 1/2” front spacer which will give you 1” total. I will have this for a couple of years until I permanently retire my truck to the trail. I’ll be able to run 265/75/17 which is all I need for now plus it will look better.

 

I was thinking of trying of the 2 inch front spacer from Rough Country and the 1 inch rear spacer from Toytec.
A "Budget Boost" for now! Maybe get better components down the road.

 

Rix, nice truck, check out [adventures of oz] on youtube. its about two brothers and there travels in their Tacoma, they have those same wheels on a dclb with 35 inch tires and a six inch lift, it is a beast of a truck

 

I'm looking at a Pro Comp 3-1 one. For those who may have it, any issues fitting the diff drop with the pro skid plate?
