Is there going to be an option without the LED Brake Light? Just think it would be easier to remove the camper when it’s not being used or is it a matter of safety?

For safety/ liability/ compliance purposes, we have to include a 3rd brake light. We definitely had mounting a rear awning in mind and left an adequate area, above the rear door, clear so the brake light wouldn't be obstructed.

We do have a cool quick- release plug that includes the brake light wiring. Disconnecting the electrical system will be simple when removing the camper.

Nice, I love the camper but I still need my truck to be a truck when I’m not camping or traveling. So being able to remove the camper and return the bed to it’s original state is a plus.

    Solar panels look sick :)

I have a quick question about production. Hypothetically speaking, if we put in a pre-order/order, do you guys have an estimate of when we’d be able to come and pick up a drifter?
Just trying to plan a cross country trip and would love to know a rough estimate of when that would be :bananadance:

    enough to go over stuff
That's a lot of power. Also the edges of the L cross bars look sharp. Please file down.

Yea I actually cut the angle iron the same length as the roof width (54”), but then I didnt end up mounting the L-Track all the way to the roof edges because of the rivets for the gas struts. You’re still able to mount them on the edges, just have to trim the underside of the L-Track, but this was simple for me.

I’m going to trim the angle iron so its even with the L-Track. At that time. I’ll def round off those edges.

    Thanks, Dad <3

@AdventureCat, that’s the question I’ve been wanting to know too. I leave on my summer road trip the last week of May and have been wondering if I’ll be able to get my hands on a Drifter before.
I’m curious how fast they will be able to fill orders. Any word team Vagabond?

I live in the East Bay (CA) and I'm dying to check one of these out. Anyone?

Like @tacomgee said, mod day at my house at the end of the month. If you can't make that, we can possibly arrange something since I live in the East Bay as well.

Thanks and thanks! My hero :taco:

So I’m driving along this morning and I see a nice Gen2 Tacoma with a FlipPac parked on the side of the road. Hey, that’s not a FlipPac ... that’s a Drifter! So I stop, park, walk back and check it out. Great welds, good panel fit, and the hidden gas springs are a great feature, as anyone who’s snagged FlipPac struts on a branch will affirm. I decided it wouldn’t be appropriate to unlatch it and open it up, so I only saw the outside, but from what I’d did see, it’s real, and it’s very, very nice.

Not gas struts, but the somewhat flimsy and very exposed support stays (struts) on the top of the lid, which support the lid on the fender brackets when open.

Oh, I didn't realize those stayed attached. I thought they remove like the supports on the habitat

This is definitely the best place to check them out and meet some great people!

Thank you! The one on my truck, dubbed “Zero”, is our test mule and definitely doesn’t have the fit & finish of the units out in the wild. And we’re adding a few things to those ones based on feedback from the trip. Sorry that I missed you!

Always wanted to do that mod. Caught those things on branches way too many times. They did support the roof for one night on my way back to FRP to have the torsion bar replaced under warranty. Didn’t sleep very well that night...
