@JimboAnz sucks you had the bad day out there. Fortunately it was only your tire- and not you or your truck that went down that ravine.

    Correct.

Retrieving the tire- solo or in a group is not a good idea. The entire area, including the road is private property. The ravine there is super steep, and deep. Would have to winch the person down, the tire and the person back up- assuming its only a 100 feet. This trail is in/on the Appalachian escarpment.
Also you would be blocking the road with winch lines- in a place you are not permitted to be.

Much easier and safer to buy a new wheel and tire! @JimboAnz made the right choice!

Shittttttt, that fucking sucks...glad you were able to make a quick road-side repair though.

On a side note - do not let the "spacers are the devil" people see this post...they will cite it for eternity.

I like it, its sturdy, easy to install... thinking about getting a smaller arm for the X-grip to go on, maybe.

The double joint isn't a bad idea, I was just thinking something a little shorter would be nice so it wouldn't be jutting out quite so far from the dash. As long as I can rotate it enough to face the drivers seat, it should be fine.

Let's just say that I don't own a silver vehicle, but.......i do own a blue vehicle.

Parked in the back 40 at Wal-Mart and a guy in a brand new jeep decides to park "downwind" right next to my driver door. 50 thousand other parking spots around.

Opened my door to the middle notch, climbed in and the wind grabbed it like a sail.

Waited 20 mins for the guy, he finally showed up. He said he shoulda parked on my passenger side and he parked there because it loomed like I take care of my car.

Needless to say I felt bad, and he felt bad. We hashed it out, told him to go get some estimates and I'll pay out of pocket.

At least you got that. I see horror stories posted on the local bad parking/driving pages that ppl end up in physical altercations and won't accept fault o_O Lucky!

Several vids of ppl ramming into others and leaving before they get caught!

He told me he thought about leaving a "nice car" note. Lol.

Poor guy said he didn't want any money and didn't want me to turn it in on my insurance.
He was just going to take care of it.

I insisted that he get me some quotes.
It's a close up pic, not very big. Just a ding but it's right on the crease. No idea where all that blue paint came from because I can't find any missing from my door. Lol.

I have a friend who hit (lightly) a door on another car and she waited for them to come out. They lost their shit! Tried to pin a whole lot of mess in the rear end on her (she had not seen that old damage) and then got in her face over it. The funny part? Lady called the cops, and there were witnesses to the incident! And apparently the cop was the one who worked her rear end accident in which SHE rammed into someone backing out of a spot.

I would need alcohol after that mess.......................
