I could never get a Tundra for the MPG alone. It's in the 3/4 ton, Powerwagon territory. If you have the space, I really don't think anything beats an F150. Great work truck with a ton of bed space, crew cab has gobs of room which your kids will love, and gets great MPG. I would test drive a 3.5 ecoboost, though. 5.0 is nice, but that TT....

    Have you considered a Ridgeline?

    :crapstorm:

If you don't go offroad much and can wade through the opinions of internet sheep, they are great trucks for a DD/home depot runs. They have all the features you listed.

Not sure yet. Local dealers are selling them $10k over sticker. Just over 5k on the clock. I'm an independent dealer licensed in CO. If you're interested, shoot me a pm.

I would never use remote start, especially on a vehicle with some miles on it. I want to know what's going on. It's just my mechanical nature mind I guess.
I never use cruise control. Makes you sleepy on long trips. Might as well get a tesla and let it drive also.

Hmmm, I don't know? If I bought another truck I would be sad every time I seen a taco...

Just a gen2 TRD shift knob so far. Anxiously awaiting ovTune 1.05 with handheld tuner!
Someone else here said it best...
There are work trucks, and there are play trucks. In the Taco, you can play all day long. My motto for any vehicle has always been "fun, first". That's why despite the short bed, I had to get the 6M. For fun, it's the best truck on the planet (IMHO).

    Good luck with your decision!

Just to throw this in there as well, isn't Nissan offering some good deals on the Titan? It comes with a 5 year 100K bumper to bumper warranty. Might be worth a look.

I don't think I can afford anything new. I'd like to stay in the $30k territory. My buddy is trying his hardest to get me in a F-150 like him except a 5.0 instead of his 3.5. the mpg on those two are nearly identical. As far as the gm products I'm not very confident with their stuff. I owed some older gm products and was not impressed. The 20mpg on the taco came out of now where about 2 months after I bought it. I think the best I ever had on the freeway (freak drive) was 26.x something.

OP might as well get a tundra (which he said he likes already) with the same gas mileage or close.

Is this a single vehicle situation, or do you have another, more traditional, family vehicle?

So a total of 4 to be? Or is that 4 kids, with a total of 6? Just verifying. :D

If you are faced with a single vehicle situation, a family friendly ride like a Sienna or Odessy in AWD with a nice utility trailer might solve your need.

Even an AWD Highlander or 4Runner, with a trailer, if you can't handle the luxury of a van. ;)

If you have another more family friendly vehicle, I'd be looking for a '13-'15 low mile Tacoma as that work rig.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Personally, I’d buy the cheapest Tacoma four cylinder five-speed and build it the way I want it. Unless you’re in a big hurry then forget it

In a Taco you look like you are on vacation.
In a F150, Silverado, Ram etc looks like you are on your way to the job site.

    Well..

The Eco-Diesel has its fair share of condensation issues just like early EcoBoosts....lol I'd steer clear..

Certainly don't buy a Dodge.. Good powertrains but the rest just sucks.... I work for them and I won't drive one..

Consider a GM over a Ford....

GM feels the same at 150k as when you bought it...

    V6 with 6speed is all you'll need..

Auto locker comes standard with tow package..
