Winjet Inc Tacoma Tail Lights Comments, Concerns, Questions

Sorry, I goofed. For some reason I thought this was the headlight thread. Doh. The tail lights will be permanently sealed shut unlike the headlights. Visual inspection is about all you can do then I'd would go through the warranty process.

 

Thank you for posting this. It’s good to know someone in the taco world talking about aftermarket mods. I purchased these taillights recently and learned after talking with your colleague Nick that one of the lights did not fit correctly because of a misproduction from this product. So he suggested I do the other side to see if that one doesn’t or does fit as well. I was able to fit it but I had no signals or brake light. I took out the light and then put in the factory one, figuring that I would get a new set that did not have any issues. After putting in the factory ones, I saw the bulb blew so then I swapped the signal lights from the brake light to go to and from work. Just this morning, I confirmed the suspicion that I was having and that was having shorted out the entire light when it’s night outside. All I have now is nothing in the back alerting drivers behind me of my presence in front of them. Should I wait for the new set or would I have the same experience? I was also thinking of taking it to Toyota and having them do some wiring work. I would do it, unless it’s absolutely simple to do. Wiring is just one of those things, or should I just get a pair of the pro lights and keep that area stock....any advice is much appreciated. Thanks Jeff and Tacomaworld.

 

How are these working out so far? Any issues at all?

 

I got a notification saying take to dealer brake override malfunction. installed correctly with both lights black wire to white wire. Swapped out reverse light to led is the only other change

 

Gosh damn! WTF is up with these lights man. I want them so bad, but i keep seeing shit like this.

I saw these in person for the first time yesterday driving in front of me on a nice looking white Off Road in Sammamish WA.... had dealer plates interestingly.

Anyway.... they look pretty cool, but half of the right light was out.

 

The quality control on this product is terrible. At one point I was interested, now, not so much.

Dealership appointment Monday well see how it goes. Looked all over for other threads regarding this issue. Looks to be hopefully easily fix I'm over looking I'll give it another shot possibly reversed polarity while plugging in socket. All else fails I'll call their support ..

 

So strange. I've had these for a couple months with no issues whatsoever, no lights on the dash, all my lights are working and everything seems to be fine so far

 

Have you changed any other bulbs in your truck LOL. Let's start there

I have changed all bulbs and even have new headlight housings.

 

Ok, all new bulbs, check!

Resistors? What resistance if so.

No resistors, didnt need them with new headlight or tail light housings.
