I'm very fortunate was a hard road but wouldn't change it for anything. Makes the rest of the years bs worth it.

I just found this thread too. Good stuff here. I fly a Challenger 300 and a King Air 350.

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock
Haven't flown it enough to really give a good answer - it's got some amazing stall characteristics. Total non-event which is great when you're flying at 500 ft and 65 knots. Tailwheel is really stiff so take s a bit of getting used to. Controls are crisp. She's easy to fly and enjoys being slow.

    ...^^^... Thanks for the info.

It looks like a mosquito in many ways with the look of a “perpetual rotary flare”.

I kinda like it. It looks like it would fly like a kite with a low stall.

As I get older, I like slow and simple planes again that require a manual hands on approach.

I went up in a newer King Air not long ago and what a beautiful aircraft. I was not flying it.

It was like flying a space ship from the cockpit with lots of automatic goodies.

    ..............

Reflecting back now .... In the past, all my instincts and maneuvers were manual in thoughts and implementation.

In reality ... in the past ... my best results were from “feeling the helicopter and the air” and a grease pencil mark on the windscreen used for target acquisition.
Pretty elementary, but it worked. I like simple things today and have regressed back to them.

Definitely a simple airplane which is one of the reasons I like it. Following railroad tracks or any linear inspection requirement is pretty damn easy in this plane which can't be said for the Cessnas we typically fly in these scenarios.

Is it true that they have an aural tone in the helmet if you get into too high of an AOA because the wing can shadow the engine and burn up the turbine blade tips? We were talking about that tonight at work and weren't sure exactly how true that is.

 My plane is in pieces! Getting 2 Garmin G5s installed so I can rid myself of the vacuum system and getting my 430W wired to my GPSMAP 696 so that they will communicate and prevent me from having to input flight plans twice. I'm also designing my own panel, which is proving to be much more difficult than I originally thought...Now I know why they're so expensive to have built.
