Well I had my 16' which I loved and it had trouble handling our 7100pd dry trailer over the passes and with a couple toy's in the toy hauler pushing 10k it was flat struggling. I finally gave up after a Telluride and Yellowstone trip last summer and bought a diesel. 7mpg and the motor singing above 5k RPM wasn't what I would call handling anything unfortunately, our XLR 29HFS has a picture in the brochure of a damn Tundra pulling it too. Sooo l would say you need to be below 6k to pull in CO with a Tundra 5.7.

I would love one of the Coleman E1 pop ups. They look pretty sweet.

Yeah it wasn't thrilled about the weight, but it was mostly flat other than the climb out of the pit that i had to hit with a running start. And I used 4lo to move it on the property since it was able to move it easier.

YEAH! My man, you got it! Ram those batteries!!! the guy who made these meters is a freaking genius. I learned soooo much about batteries from that guy and his company!

My setup evolved... I have two 6volt golf cart batteries. They are pretty good. I might upgrade some day if needed but so far they have taken everything we throw at them. I have two 100 watt Renology panels. One permanent on the roof which is great when driving. Other is portable folding and I can move around to deal with varied site and shade. I have a pigtail into my board and made a 25 foot extension cord for the portable panel out of 6 gauge welding wire and rigged a quick connect. I’m with you man, no generators, have boondocked for extended periods. There would have to be many days of shade to be concerned. Love it!! I had a larger non sine wave, decided too much and replaced with a smaller pure sine. Took larger one and mounted to board with a rope handle. Can run a vaccuum or air compressor off it if needed. Stoked to see another trimetric fan!

I currently have two aal's under it, and consequently, 400lbs of sand to soften the rear for the moment. Didn't squat a bit. That, and a set of firestone air bags should do it.

Great. Now I have to spend a great deal of time convincing myself that I'm good with just the tent.

    I don't.

    Nope.

Since summer is coming up, however. It's time to put together a little camp-site shower system! Lowe's... here we come!

On board water is fantastic... And can be done real inexpensively.

Edit: .What are you wanting to get out of the shower system?

Just a flow of water. I was thinking a 5 gallon bucket could do it.... elevated for a little bit of gravity. A cheap shower curtain, and something to stand on... in case it's all dirt where we are.

Dead-of-winter being the exception; there is something to be said about a cold shower in the early morning, while camping.

Can we talk about something else? I just filed my taxes. The results were not in my favor this year.

F* it. Got any ideas for that shower?

*Yes. I'm a bit of a hot mess. HaHa! (he says as he pours another glass of bourbon).
