What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Didn't do anything with my 3rd Gen other than drive it to/from work.


I checked the mileage on the way home.










The two significant things here are that:

1) I didn't baby it on the way home....just drove it. Didn't use the cruise control that much as it's now very effective on rolling hill interstate (12 mile section) where tractor/trailers are up & down on speeds....simply drive and adjust to them.


2) I'm now running E-Rated (heavy) 265/75r16 Firestone Destination MT tires. These are significantly heavier than the factory Destination LE rubber that I swapped out two weeks ago at 5,600 miles on my Taco. There has definitely been an impact to my mpg and this is one of the better readings I've had.

The local shop that did my last couple of trucks that looked perfect over the last 15 years recently quoted me similar prices for Suntek ceramic..... $150 for the front sides and $150 for the front windshield.

I'm struggling with how dark to make mine.

I want to match the factory rears in darkness & color. I also don't want to get into problems with police, either.

It’s a TRD 4x4 vinyl decal in matte black, then I also bought 2 spears in matte black vinyl off eBay. Just search it.

 

Gold Vinyl Overlays Installed:

Eventually I want some Gold Ray 10's, but for now the overlays scratch the itch.

I’ve been eyeing a new DC OR in cement for a few weeks now but I keep adding stuff to the Taco -smh-

 

Rigid Relays on a stainless powder coated mount from @ragofabrication. Before the two were just mounted into those two holes.... you know what this means? Room for one more set of lights!!!

 

I love it! Plenty of space with the rear facing car seat. There are some things I miss about the Taco but I can live with. Such as no shark fin but the old school whip antenna, the push start, touch to lock/unlock door handle, annnnnd seeing my MPG trip screen show a number above 20 when I turn the truck off. lol Overall it’s a great truck. Best part, IMO, those LED headlights!!

Yeah those LED lights are sweet, the mpgs is the single reason why I don’t jump into one right now.

Slide In Camper Mods! The rear 5100's and the

$448 Firestone 2407 Firestone TACHOMA 4WD(05-13)

Firestone 2407's are in and give a real nice ride compared to the stock Hitachi shocks. I am wondering if I should install the single path compressor or return it for the the dual path compressor to prevent air going from bag to bag in the corners with a full load. Does anyone have a link on the air bags shifting pressures on TW?
