This issue became noticeable to me about a week ago. I have a stock '18 DCLB OR and get a vibration off the steering wheel while under load from 2100 - 2300RPM, no matter which gear.
Some owners report the vibration will numb their hands during long periods in that RPM range.
Did a forum search and there are several threads that address this issue. Unfortunately, there are only homebrew remedies that alleviate or lessen the issue, but none eliminate it. I am hoping the OVTune fixes or lessens it, I and ready to pull the trigger on the tune and news of it fixing the vibration will have me purchasing it today.

Here is a giant thread talking about it back when the Gen 3 appeared on the market: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/buzzy-vibration-at-certain-rpms-read-before-buying.397620/

I have a fully stock 2016 TRD Sport. No armor, lifts, tires, etc... I have just sent Mat a 20 minute long TechStream log on the new tune... I will have to wait for his instructions before I can give any details. Sorry if this causes suspense/excitement... I just don't y'all to bust your "dongle".

This sounds reminiscent of what I went through with my FJ. At about 60k miles, mine started to pick up a vibration. It was felt in the steering, but not sourced there. Turns out it was an issue with the torque converter. Under specific rpm and loads, it seemed to struggle with whether to be locked or unlocked. It would get 'really bad' on occasion. Enough that you'd swear all 5 lug nuts were loose on one wheel. Solution was to either a) drop it out of 'D' which would lock the converter, or b) give a little more (or less) pedal. Toyota recognized it as a fault eventually and replace TC's under factory warranty. Since I was at 63k+, no love for me. 120k+ miles later on the same engine/tranny, it was subconscious to feather the pedal when necessary. Just never got around to doing a $1k aftermarket TC replacement.

Anyone on 04B03 1.04 91 notice the torque converter engage and disengage more than previous tunes? This is especially noticeable during shifts at speed below 30 mph, or coming to a stop. I can feel it like someone slightly bump into my rear bumper. It's slight, but noticeable compare to previous tunes. Don't notice it with speed higher than 30 mph.

Throttle tip in, 2-3 3-4 4-5 shift points are perfect now. Bone stock automatic transmission.

If needed, I'll log later tonight when I get home. No laptop with me at the moment.

Interesting. Let us know how it plays out as you keep driving it for sure. I will say with some recent versions (I’m still 1.03) I’ve noticed that kind of bump engage / disengage soon after flashing but it seems to settle down within a few drive cycles.

Will do. This was my first drive after flashing 1.04, idle 20 minutes. So still very early for sure.

You may need a zip or rar opener file. Download one only from a web search that has https://

If you were able to open the file but could open flash manager you need to install gaurdant and the other file in the folder before using pcm flash

Per Mat’s instructions for those testing 1.04, please provide all feedback to him and avoid posting in the forum until 1.04 has officially released.
I only say this because I’d like to have us be able to test future updates if he needs more testing.

    Bone stock for now.
Order #2649. This is exciting! I’ve learned to drive this truck as is, but can’t wait to really drive it!

More torque converted unlock? :fingerscrossed: Too much torque converter lock is ruining the low speed driving experience. "Falling on it's face after a turn" would be a non-issue.
