No you're not going to get great mpgs, but with the right gearing, you wont lose too much.

With fisrt gen stock motor, its going to hate one tons, he will have to gear to 5.29 and freway speeds will be lucky to go over 55.
All the guys i know that build crawers like that dont daily drive them . Maybe drive them around town but daily no fun. Need a bigger motor in that bitch.

@FirstTimeFirstGen and I did some things yesterday to get ready for doing stuff this season.

Actually, he did 99% of the work. He was like a hummingbird. Had the truck jacked and the wheel off before my first sip.

    Thank you, sir. :hattip:

Still needs some adjustment. We overcooked the preload a bit. I can here all those sounds my truck made when I had the Toytecs put on and no bumper.

    20180414_123922.jpg

Edit: Even with the preload, it felt pretty good doing 30-35 over some table top speed bumps. The 5165s on the back feel pretty good too.

We didn't overcook the preload, you just need more weight up front lol

That's how I feel. My front isn't that cranked up but I want a winch to smooth it out a bit

Shhhhh dont tell him but I'm trying to get him to sign up for the BAMF 1/4" skids with me. He has this plan to make his own, but I'm trying to redirect him through indirect comments

    "Most difficult"
Is basically a bill and teds excellent adventure reference, because there is also an "extremely difficult" setting. Which is in fact, more difficult.
But it was most bodacious my dudes.

I figure it might be best to ask the locals. I am trying to find some suggestions for a weekend trip up in one of the national forests. I don't know much of anything out there, but my girlfriend lives out in lake county so we will be originating from there. Was looking into Plumas or even towards Tahoe. With the given weather out there latley, what would give me a great weekend of some secluded camping next week? I am not opposed to getting into some rougher trails but as I will be going solo I am not looking for anything extreme where I need to worry about breaking something.

I was really looking into Gold Lake, but seems the highway is still closed off due to snow, or at least that what the NFS website says..

    Any suggestions are appreciated!

They just got more snow dumped on them. There is stuff West of, and closer to you. You’ve got Mendicino, Pilsburry, the Redwoods. Lots of stuff out towards the coast up there.

That said, I may be going up to the Sierras for some camping this weekend but it’s much closer to me. Wife wants to get away but it may still be a bit chilly for her up there.

I was afraid of that. Maybe another trip when it's a bit warmer. I'll do some looking into mendo as it's literally right there.

    Thanks for the replies.

Would you happen to know what conditions are like around Shaver/Bald Mountain? Did a day trip there last July and I've been wanting to get back there and camp a few nights.
