Cool. Yeah, if you look at the tops of the Louisville ones, you'll notice bulky wrap-over brackets on the ends of the top steps. These cause an irregular surface that can damage or impair material movement (think table saw outfeed, for example). I realized this when discussing with @OZ-T like 10 fucking years ago and I still haven't bought any. I'm been managing with my battleworn hodgepodge roll-around work table for outfeed, or rollers.

Now that I have the new general purpose work bench installed at the "new" place (gratuitous repost):

I'm going to repurpose the thick maple worktop from my old surplus AFB bench:

onto a new rollaround table that is purpose-built. Then, maybe then I might buy some 3-steppers. :anonymous:

Did I mention my truck mods? If I haven't, please follow my lead. :bananadead:

I just use 2 / 3'ers and a sheet of plywood for a quick outfeed table

Works great , easy to move , takes 2 seconds to set up

If I am handling finished material on the tops of the sawhorses I just shrink wrap a couple strips of wood on too

Speaking of mitres, this followed me home today. Bought all my roofing materials to take advantage of their 24months interest free financing and was $100 shy of 2k. Told the cashier to hold on one second I'll be right back.

Not really home improvement but I'm looking into the cost of materials, it seems like every website I check always includes labor ad other things but doesn't make it where you can subtract that cost. Do y'all have any recommendations?

Well the countertops are moving along. Took a bit longer to get the old countertops removed and everything (more or less) cleaned up from that. But the durock is all down. Just need to make the sink cutout and round two corners and thatll be done.

In the mean time i started putting up some of the forms. For the cost and all its not a bad system at all. Not perfect but for a over-the-counter type product it works fine and is easy enough to use.

I will say some of their videos need up dating as the reference old ways of using their products and also old designs of products. Not abig deal really but when you watch one video and they say to do things this way and then in the next say you dont have to do it that way anymore its a bit annoying.

Goal is to pour next weekend but we will of course see what happens!

I have been working on finishing our basement now for 8 months. In this time I have continued to work my full time 50+ hour per week job, completed my Masters degree, pay as much attention as possible to my 5 year old and my wife, all while working on the basement as much as my time can permit.

Today a major milestone was reached. I finished the quarter round yesterday and today put in the toilet.

This weekend was first of many lawn jobs....trimming, cutting, and using Scott's Turf Builder, crabgrass blocker and whatever voodoo magic is in that bag. Sort of 'home-improvement', right? :anonymous:

The newest dilemma of a newly constructed home...

    Master bath. Double sink vanity.

Left side, open to the left, no wall.
The light fixture is aligned with the sink below.

Right side, there’s a wall to the right. The light fixture is nearly 4” offset from the sink faucet.

This shit will drive me crazy until the day I move out.

I really (really) prefer to have two mirrors. We even got a credit from the builder to keep him from putting up that cheapass plate glass mirrors he had intended. (Same for the lights, they were supposed to be those uglyass Hollywood makeup lights, bulbs sticking out everywhere.)

    Align mirror with the light?

    Align mirror with faucet?

    Meet in the middle?

    OMG burn it.

Seriously. Would never happen in an OZ house. Should not happen in any house with any competent builder.

In the end, you either get a new, smaller light fixture and move the electrical box to the right on the other side of the stud (assuming that is viable) along with the mirror, but then everything is crammed in the corner. Fixes one aesthtiec issues, but creates another.

Or, you move the faucet left, which I assume means trashing a granite counter and possibly the sink.

That's just incompetent. The builder should unfuck the counter/sink and do it right.
