I don't really use creepers anymore. I have an old craftsman one, but I just lay sheets of cardboard down now. It's clean and easy to slide on when you're moving around under the truck. Keeps stuff from dripping on my garage floor too.

I bought a set of HF impact deep metric sockets today. They should be fine for the occasional use I'll be subjecting them to.

I was going to get the HF Earthquake XT impact but I couldn't justify spending $150 for something again I won't be using very often. I ended up buying a $35 Husky at HD. If it won't break my lugs when I soon do a brake job I will be taking it back and getting the HF impact.

Doing mechanical repairs myself is saving a lot of cash so money well spent on tools is a no brainer!

I'm the opposite of you. I do that with the cardboard now, and it's getting kind of old. Lol

I got sick of the creeper. Ended up being more of a pain in the ass than anything. My garage floor isn't super smooth, so moving around wasn't really easy. I've considered getting another one though. Only because I want one that's adjustable, like these:

That makes sense if your garage floor isn't smooth or is semi-smooth. I can imagine trying to move in one direction and either not being able to or the wheel turning and going in a different direction. Lol

I was going to get one at HF but when i was in my local autozone they had the wrong price tag on this creeper which is usually $39.99

    I got it for $24.99!!!

While I usually hate it when Autozone screws up and sell me the wrong parts this time their screwup worked in my favor since the mngr honored the wrong price.

$22 for the jack stands, $5 for the gloves, $6 for the screwdriver set (probably crap quality but just need them for house projects) and the glue was free with coupon lol.

Take an old creeper. Take some flat stock, and add big rubber wheels.

    It’s practically that easy.

I have an HF creeper I've had mine for a couple years, it's red not grey but they look the same.
It works fine and hasn't had any problems, much better than my old way of crawling under my truck on a piece of carpet.

1x3 rectangle tubing for the spine. Then get some 70s Ford 3" wide leaf springs for the legs and pneumatic casters. You can assemble an "offroad" creeper with suspension.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
I have their stool, and a snap-on mechanics seat similar to the HF ones. I love my snap on seat, handy as hell.

    The stool has been good.

The creaper is absolute garbage. I have tried 2 styles from them, and a few others.. avoid at all cost. Pony up and buy a nice one.

Spent the day in the garage. :headbang:

Installed OME, Dakars in the back and brought the Bilstein 5100 snap rings up to the .85" position on the front.

This impact saw its first use and performed flawlessly. Removed bolts that had torque specs of 61, 100 & 121 ft/lbs. with no problems whatsoever. I can only imagine how worn out I would be if I was breaking loose each one of those bolts by hand. Also made removing and reinstalling the lug nuts a breeze and so much quicker too. Used these torque limiting extensions (picked up off Amazon) with the impact for the lugs.

Oh, and while I was in the garage I made some axles for my RTIC 65 and mocked them up with river straps.

    IMG_3243.jpg
    IMG_3244.jpg

The wheels were are from Harbor Freight, and the axles are made from 80/20 T-slotted aluminum along with threaded rod & hardware from Home Depot.
I'm not really impressed with the wheels, but at $3.99 a wheel they will work just fine (compared to about $12 a wheel elsewhere). The bearings in them don't roll very freely and cause the cooler to slow down quickly when not being actively pulled or pushed, but that may be a feature which won't let the cooler get away from you when going down a grade when it's loaded up. The extra length of one of the river straps made an excellent tug handle.

Long term I will finish the axle frame with more 80/20 T-slotted aluminum. Rode my cooler down my driveway and let my daughter ride it for about a bit too. :p
