Edit: The grey plug with two wires (same type as backup camera harness connectors) are 12v + and ground for license plate lights. Usefull spot for a plug and play jumper harness for lights that you want to come on with either parking or headlights. perhaps low power rock lights?

The connectors can be found here:

Looking behind the rear bumper next to the tow package wiring harness there are two plugs. One has two wires coming out (reverse signal for head unit perhaps?) the other is black (maybe 8 pins?) and isn’t hooked up to anything on my AT TRD OR DCSB.

I’m working on a plug and play trailer camera module and if that one plug is infact the reverse signal that would be outstanding! Thanks TW peeps.

No idea, you could always put a meter on them to see if any power is to them.

Most of these trucks come equipped with the harnesses for the higher up trims. I bet thats for bsm etc. I know behind my dash i have the wireing for switches and qi.(which i do not have)

BSM might explain the empty black plug...I’ll put a multi-meter on the grey plug tomorrow. Hope thats the reverse signal for the headunit.

Yep. Got two good friends that work at the plant here in SA, they pretty much wire them all the same.

Although, I did have a dealer tell me “all you need to do to add a-trac and the locker to a sport model is buy and install the switches. All the trucks come with the same parts so if you have the switches you’re set.” So maybe we all secretly have TRD Pros and there are a bunch of suckers paying extra for the stickers and switches!

Lol, I probably would have walked away from that dealer and moved to the next. Or maybe try to get them to give a deep discount on a pro, since it's just switches anyways haha.
