I have had my 08 TRD Off Road for 10 years now and looking at the 2018 Limited. I’m not in a rush because my 08 is still mint.
The dealer was putting the pressure to me yesterday and told me that Toyota never offers cash back on the Tacoma. Is this true??

In my experiance that is the truth. About the only offer I've ever seen on the Taco is the military discount or the student discount. I don't think they ever do 0% financing on them either. It's much differant than GM/Ford giving upwards of 10 grand off pickups sometimes...

Go to the Toyota site, plug in your zip and look at local incentive offers. See if they’re serious or blowing smoke. Beware, could be lease only deals.

Very rarely does yota offer incentives on the taco, they don't need to. And when they do, it's for the left overs. I have seen 0% once in a while. Your better off to learn what invoice cost is and work to get below that and work on getting good financing all lined up.

    This.

'Cause like 0% doesn't actually exist.

If you dealer finance at 0%, you just paid too much for the vehicle, because they aren't really letting you walk for free. Regardless of the big sign in the window and the salesman's smile.

When I was shoppping for my truck last year here in VA the best factory incentive I saw all year round was $1,000 off sticker price and that was on Memorial Day weekend.

For 2017 leftovers yes. But probably nothing close on the 2018 until the 2019 start arriving.

Shop around and use other dealers as leverage. You should be able to get at or around invoice price, many of us have.

Tell them you have your own financing whether you do or not. Use a credit union if you can, you'll get the best rates that way. If you can't STILL tell them you do. Give them a realistic rate based on your credit and they will probably match it.

It is glorious. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to a Tacoma. The price I got is less than what I see some people spending on new Tacomas. So very happy with my purchase. Should be getting lift and tires ordered by the end of the month. Can’t wait to get her off the pavement.

I got 4% Toyota financing. and above KBB trade-in for my Camry. They don't have much incentive to discount their best selling product. I did just see an ad for 0%/72 month financing on the '18 Tundras.

I got my TRD OR on the $299 mo lease deal. Not really an incentive per se but it creates a cap cost of about $4500 off msrp. I pushed a little harder and got $5000 off as well as some included warranties and services. In the lease contract I can purchase any time without penalty based off that msrp minus payments made. The dealer told me they usually don’t sell for that low but Toyota likes to lease so they can get them back in a few years and sell them as CPO because of the high resale on Tacomas. And most people don’t buy out their lease they just continue to release a new one after the term is up.

4% is high.. So you got more than kbb on your trade and they took it back from you with the high interest rate. I'm at 2.5 for 60. Always take your own financing if for no other reason than to negotiate down their rate to match or beat it.

You have a trd off-road, so let's assume $35k out the door to make the math easy.

$35k on a 60 month loan at 4% is $3675 in interest if you keep the loan all 60 months.
    $35k on a 60 month loan at 2.5% is $2269 in interest

That's a $1406 difference that could be what they gave you over kbb. They will always get their money and as long as they control all of the numbers, it's easy for them to give you a deal in one place and take it back from you in another .

Dodge has a bunch of leftover Ram 1500s with the diesels for upwards of 14k off msrp. Meanwhile, most Toyota dealership near me only have a handful of tacomas in stock at any given moment. I know it's a bit off topic, but it spoke volumes to me that one brand has more 2017 leftovers than the other has new models, period.

When I bought my 17 OR I went in the dealership with a pre-approved loan in hand from BOA of 1.9% and the dealership went with TFS and got me 0.9%.....

We bought our new 17' on 3/3/18, $40,038 MSRP discounted to $34,200 + $499 dealer fee + Tax + Registration. We also did the .9% financing they're still offering.

The new 18' was almost $2500 more and 1.9% financing so if you don't mind getting a new 17' I would go that route, our 17' was built 10/17 so it wasn't sitting for a year like some leftovers.

I got 1.9% on a 17’ DCSB OR thru Toyota and $500 under invoice. This was in January. Probably could’ve asked for more off invoice especially cuz I was serious about taking one off their lot that day. Shop around

If you get 0% and can get the price lower than MSRP, you are making a good deal. 0% is zero interest. Despite what has been said that is a no brainer. Also, college grad bonus, military bonus, are all more money off of the overall price.

The only catch is..... If they are offering cash back a lot of times they won’t honor both cash back AND 0% on the same truck. But... Not all dealerships are the same do shop around. Hope you get a nice truck for a good deal when you are ready to buy!
