If i put those plates on they would move it 3/4", so it would end up 3/8" back the other way and be too far forward.

Nooooooooooooooo. Steve o and quattrokiwi were discussing clearance issue with the much larger tires they will be using. It was meant only for them if it helps them out...

Yeah, I didn't examine too closely. It was late and I stumbled upon it...

Have you already done the pinch weld mod? That seems much more in line with your needs. And you have a forklift, so it should be easy ...

Check this out ( Steve o, you too):

Yep, I have the pinch weld done, just beat it over with a hammer.
Everything still clears, no rubbing anywhere, its just tighter in the back now.
The tires I have are Firestone Destinations, 285/75/16

    edit:

Also I don't want to add another 3/8" height to the back with relocation plates, I already have a 1/4" rake and like it like that. 5/8" would be too much.

As in this thread, I cannot remove my hanger pin bolt and am about to cut the mother off. Anyone know what size these bolts are so I can have my MIL pick some up for me. : ) NAPA may know as well but I'm asking here first. Are the 1/2"?

EDIT - OK that was a newb question. I was just hoping to speed things up by sending my MIL to Tacoma Screw. But we cut the hanger pin bolts off the front of the springs as both sides were seized. One of my shackle pins was seized as well so I need to order new shackle sets as well. SO - note to you folks getting ready to dive in, you may want to snag new bolts and shackle sets if you haven't already done so. I'm up on jack stands for a few days until I can get my hands on new shackles.

Anyone have an opinion on the replacement hanger pin bolt in the front - the folks at Tacoma Screw had a bit of attitude and sent me home with course threaded metric replacements. The bolt we cut was fine threads. I assume with locktite and some torque it's a non issue but I'd love to know what you guys (and gal) think. The Tacoma Screw guy wanted to sell me the more expensive metric, didn't have fine thread and really didn't want to dance with me.

:lalala:now I'm scared to tear into my truck...don't be telling us of the troubles you're having! But it's actually good - first to install gets to be the guinea pig and the rest of us learn from your experience.

I was concerned about rust and such which is why I'm dousing my truck in PB Blaster starting tomorrow, hope that will help the tear down process when it comes time. For now I'm back to waiting for shocks...sigh...
